PLuG/laffer/Buster - Had early chemistry but cut short with injuries, i think this can be a very good line if given a chance.

That line reminds me a lot of Williams/Kopitar/Brown in their hay day. Extremely effective, each guy brought something to the table that meshed well.

Would love to see this line given another shot. I'm telling you, Laferriere has that Williams vibe about him, he is a very special player and will be in on huge goals in the future. He will be a gamer.

Vegas acquires Anthony Mantha from the Crapitals for a 2024 2nd and 2026 4th round pick. Washington also retains 50% ($2.85 million), Vegas still has $4.4 million in Cao space available so I don't think they're done yet.

Dude has a ton of size, 6'5"/234 and speed but he is the smallest 6'5" guy in the league. Absolutely no shows more than anything, he has 20 goals and the most he's scored in a season in 3 years.

If Vegas meets up with LA, his size alone will be an issue for the Kings but I don't expect him to be much of a difference maker. His career has not been the same since he left Detroit and wasn't a good fit in Washington.

I thought Mantha would turn out better then he has....

Walker and a 2026 5th round pick to Avalanche for Johansen and a 2024 1st round pick to the Flyers.

Wow. Good job Blake, he was a cap casualty for getting rid of that horrendous Petersen contract. He got a 2nd too but had to take on a big chunk of Ivan Provorov's salary as retention.

All these moves he made have come at a cost, and not good ones. Bowlby has to have a sore ass from all the reamings he takes on deals.

Deals deals deals..

Simultaneously to the Walker acquisition the Avs traded Byram to the Sabres for Casey Mittelstadt.

Byram is skilled but injuries have really hurt him, mostly concussions. Reminds me of why Blake traded The Legend, good player bur does you no good if they are constantly shelved. Byram went 4OA in 2019, one spot before Turcotte. That wasn't a super strong draft so now we're seeing guys from that draft being moved.

Out goes Byram and Johansen (who was waived by the Flyers after the trade, no will take him at $4 million but he's actually $8 million since his cap hit is being split between the Predators and now the Flyers. He's not the same player anymore either so he will end up in the AHL) and in comes Walker and Mittelstadt, also a 1st round pick in 2017. The Avs improved IMO.

And this one should raise some eyebrows, the Oilers are gearing up for a run and acquired Henrique and Carrick from the Ducks for a 2024 1st round pick and a conditional 5th round pick in 2025 which becomes a 4th round pick if the Oilers win the Cup this season. Tampa is retaining some of Henrique's salary (I haven't seen a percentage yet) so they receive an Edmonton conditional 4th round pick in 2024, becomes a 2025 pick if the Oilers do not win the Cup this season.

That one concerns me, Carrick is a big body who can throw and will solidify their B6 while Henrique can play all three F positions and strengthens their depth down the middle. Both guys are PK1 guys so that improves that area as well.

This makes it tougher for LA to go through Edmonton which is why Bowlby acquired PLD to begin with. For Verbeek to get a 1st round pick for two expiring contracts is a coup. Again, Bowlby shows his ineptitude with the deals he makes compared to what other GMs do.

Friday is approaching quick, I'm sure there will be plenty more movement here soon.

Henrique is super slow these days but makes up for it by knowing where to be and not scrambling. Carrick is a guy i would have wanted....has everything LAs 4th line is missing.

Solid defender. Don't see the return yet.

And how convenient, they placed Martinez on IR 4 hours ago:

Their cap circumvention is becoming a joke, a bill says he and Stone are ready to go after Friday if nor by G1 of the playoffs.

I actually kind of think the mark stone ruptured spleen thing is legit..... But you never know these days. It seems like they're going to make another move as well, They will be pretty stacked heading in

Seems pretty cheap, But he had him over a barrel with his NTC, Think he gave him one option which was florida ha ha

Yup, wanted to be closer to his family apparently.

I think that's way cheap, he isn't a game breaker anymore but a solid secondary option. Good pick up, Cats are going to be a tough out.

Alexander Wennberg to Rangers for 2024 2nd and 2025 4th round picks, Seattle also retaining 50%.

Joel Edmunson to Leafs, Capitals get 2024 3rd and 2025 5th round picks. Seems like a low price to play for a physical defensive defender.

Lot of salary retention deals going on.

Toffoli held out of Devils' lineup tonight for trade reasons. Lots of speculation Kings are gonna take a chance and bring him back.
