A couple things Patterson did not say..

Mack was certainly let go after going (8-4), however Sumlin was given a raise after going (9-4), not (8-4). His raise camee in Feb 2014.

Mack also went (9-4), (8-5), and (5-7) the three years prior to his (8-4) eventual (8-5) after the 30-7 loss in the Alamo Bowl.

Nebraska fan running to a Texas thread, who'd a thought. Yes a&m has lower expectations, just like UCLA does in LA, Okie state does in the craphole state, etc.

I thought he was more talking about how the 2 teams had improved.

Although Missouri had been improved for a few years before coming to the SEC.

Somewhat...The BIG XII North was bad though. Colorado was down, Kansas St was down, Nebraska was down.

Piinkel beat Nebraska in Pelini's first season but not after. Those weren't very good Nebraska teams either.

The real story will be how it unfolds in year 3.
The honeymoon period will start to fade.

Year One 11-2 (5th place, Jan bowl)
Year two 9-4 (7th place, dec 31 bowl)
Year three ????

Recruiting doesn't mean anything without the wins.
The expectation was set high, but each year could show a worse result.

Next year LSU, Bama, Auburn will be better. Ole Miss and Miss State will probably be better.
It will be a natural down year for the Aggies, as they lost a ton of talent....while all the other teams in their division got better.

It will be interesting to see how A&M deals with a 7-5 type season.
Sumlin can do no wrong in the eyes of Aggie-land, but that changes in a Mack Brown split second.

Alot of A&M's problems last year was due to the defense. 1. Half the starters were suspended for the first four games of the season 2. Young guys had to come in and contribute right away since we had no depth 3. No leadership on the D 4. Couldn't create a pass rush 5. Everyone was playing out of their natural positions.

Auburn may not be as good cause they lost some key players on their team, plus they got lucky in almost all those games which won't happen this year. LSU has to replace a bunch of talent from last year. Bama I think will be fine if Saban has fixed his defensive problems from last year. Ole Miss and Miss St. who knows.

Haven't you guys lost 4 defensive starters this off season due to arrests?

You don't think A&M has high expectations for it's team every year?

LOL Texas fans have only been saying this for years, decades

Aggy thinks the two years they had JFF were the two best in their history. They claim he's the greatest player they ever had, and there is SERIOUS discussion on a statue and retiring his jersey.

And for what? A Heisman? Let's be clear - JFF never won ANYTHING that mattered outside of that Heisman trophy. He never even won his division in the SEC. He beat Bama once......and was swept by Florida, LSU and Auburn.

And this is the GREATEST two year run and GREATEST PLAYER EVER in A&M HISTORY according to a lot of their fans, LMAO

LMAO@ swept by Auburn and Florida. LSU was the only 2-0 team vs Johnny Football. Do your homework. Learn some football.

Not too high. I think you guys are happy as long as you beat UT in recruiting, and get to chant SEC. I'm not trolling, this is my honest opinion.

Not trying to be mean, but lets be honest. They have no recruiting advantage, they no longer can take partial qualifiers, and being in the Big ten doesn't put them in Florida, Texas, or florida for recruiting. Time to face reality, nebraska is basically Iowa, but with more history to look back on.

just to be fair. A&M has only 1 win over those teams. Would not have used the word swept by Florida, but it is not inaccurate. A&M is 1-1 vs Auburn.

And your staff can walk out on their back porch and yell down the street to pick up a handful of 5-star players......yet you still suck just as bad as Nebraska.

That's the beauty of it, we can always get better with our natural advantages. Nebraska is stuck in nebraska, and in the big ten.
