While I agree with most of this, I must point out that Auburn did not sweep TAMU. Nor did Florida. LSU did though.

And the fact that Texas didnt have anyone drafted last year while A&M had 3 first rounders also speaks volumes. Forgive his team for finishing 3rd in the division in 2012 with 2 losses that were less than by 5 points each. It also speaks volumes that Texas almost won the Big12 last year with 3 embarrassing losses. THAT speaks volumes of how WEAK the Big12 is overall.

Again, I agree with most of this, but don't look at this from a homer standpoint.

Texas A&M beats Oklahoma in the Cotton Bowl
Missouri beats Oklahoma State in the Cotton Bowl

Would this have happened had they stayed in the Big12? Would Missouri and A&M have won those games 2 years ago?

I'm guessing TCU plays Texas this year, and not TAMU. But it was pretty funny.

The real story will be how it unfolds in year 3.
The honeymoon period will start to fade.


Year One 11-2 (5th place, Jan bowl)
Year two 9-4 (7th place, dec 31 bowl)
Year three ????


Recruiting doesn't mean anything without the wins.
The expectation was set high, but each year could show a worse result.


Next year LSU, Bama, Auburn will be better. Ole Miss and Miss State will probably be better.
It will be a natural down year for the Aggies, as they lost a ton of talent....while all the other teams in their division got better.


It will be interesting to see how A&M deals with a 7-5 type season.
Sumlin can do no wrong in the eyes of Aggie-land, but that changes in a Mack Brown split second.

last year was the worst the Big 12 has been in some time. I would guess the league moves up a bit this yr. There is a lot more returning QB talent

Although Missouri had been improved for a few years before coming to the SEC.
