Mariota, yet another career backup, has their interest. Choosing between these three, even in competition during the preseason, still nets you a backup who starts. At some point they are gonna have to give Heinicke some action in a live game. He was just too good against Tampa to never revisit that and find out if it was a fluke.

The minute QBX struggles, the fan base is gonna be screaming for Heinicke.

This team really needs a preseason, so the QB situation can get settled on the field of play, not at practice behind closed doors like last year.

MM was a starter for the titans most of his career except his last season for 1/2 the year . . no MM isnt the dream qb everyone wants . but i dont see the texans moving on from DW anytime soon so you have the 2nd tier guys or you draft one or you run with what you have

I’m just not sure that MM is an upgrade over what we already have. So I don’t give much up to get him. Maybe a 4th or a 3rd and we get their seventh.

he is a healthier CDC . he is accurate and he had some terrible play around him . i agree with you on what to give up but if he isnt better then we have then roll with what we have

The question is ... what does the WTF have? TH was good in his small amount of playing time but what happened the first 5 years. I liked what little we saw. I am guessing the coachng staff being familiar with Allen and TH so they have a good idea. I wouldn't make a move on MM yet. Not sure if he is an upgrade or not. All three seem to have some injury history.

i think you have to have your plan in place by the draft . it sets the team behind in OTAS and minicamp by not having the qb we decide on getting reps .

I found it interesting while listening to B Mitch and JP that when Cam went down in Carolina, Ron and Scott went to Heinicke before they went to Allen. Allen got in there because Heinicke got hurt. They like Heinicke.

Problem is I think heiny has been hurt in every nfl game he’s played. Also he looked good against TB, but you’ve always got to question how he’d looked if Bowles had film on him and if white had played. I do like what I’ve seen though.

Let that sink in for a minute. 5 qtrs or 100+ yards passing per qtr or avg 400 per game. This guy has a skill set similar to Mayfield however, he looks just a bit more athletic than Mayfield.

I'd want to crown him now if it wasn't for his injury history. But you're right. Week 6, when his tendencies are exposed, he could struggle
