Tar Heels in black?

I'm not real crazy about black for the UNC Tar Heels. It looks okay, I guess, but I don't want 18 different uni combos like Oregon has.

I have forced myself to like the silver helmets and the "foot" logo but black? It will take some time to get used to this.

Don't do it Carolina.

Uniform gimmicks and blue fields forever prevent you from being taken serious.

Alabama, Texas, Nebraska, Michigan, Ohio State, USC, Oklahoma, and Penn State almost never change the uniforms except minor tweaking.

There is no surprise that they are the 100 year kings of the sport.

Tradition, Tradition, and more tradition enables the wins and the money to pour in long term.
Gimmicks seems short term.

Establishing the uniform tradition enables you to win the permanent "benefit of the doubt" bias.
Gimmicky stuff just devalues the brand.

In fairness, Oregon and Maryland really have no choice as NIKE and UNDER ARMOUR are forcing their hands.

But, to voluntarily change the identity for a few quick bucks....permanently harms the brand.

How was Oregon supposed to get where they are without rebranding there identity. THere was no winning tradition to tie their history to so Phil Knights vision of what Oregon could be is being realized by being different than everyone else. Not everyone in the world is Texas, Bama, and USC HS2... You are better than both of these comment and are coming off of a jealous hater whose program is in a state of currently being labeled (PATHETIC)...

Your program Texas is a perfect example as to what happens when you tie everything to past merits.... You end up with a losing record in your own conference over the last few years, BLOWN OUT by rival Oky over and over, no BCS appearances in how long?..... Keep on keepin on and rely on what happened 8+ and even 35+ years ago.

THe Oregon's of the world have passed up Texas.

ANd how could that even be remotely possible?????? You are Texas. Best weather, most money, best recruiting base.... But your team lives on glory days of yesteryear while they wallow in their own filth believing glory will return just because you are Texas... How is that working out guy?

While Oregon's motto "The future was yesterday" has worked out well. Sure no NATTYs. But seriously... 4 BCS bowls, national exposure off the charts, curb stomping Big12 champ, NATTY contender for last 5 years.... Outside of Bama Oregon is the best program over the last 5 years. Prety freaking good company.

Difference between Texas and what Texas wants to be Alabama, is that Alabama, although with a strong winning history (understatement) they think progressively. Texas not so much...

In your case specifically Texas keep on with the tradition thing. It will leave you where you are... a losing record in the freaking big12 over the last 3 years.

If you want any more trophies I suggest you join the 21st century of CFB and get with it quick. Because there are several CFB programs that are years ahead of the Hookems.

I could care less what any other teams wear honestly. I love what Oregon does with the unis but recognize it isnt for everybody.

It is the self entitled "traditionalists" that care so much about Oregon's uniforms and dont have any idea why Oregon had to brand itself to stand out.

It doesnt matter what "Traditionalist" 45 year old white message board guy thinks of the unis. It is what the 16 year olds that run a 4.3 in California and Texas think.... THey seem to like em just fine.

To have Oregon mentioned with the above two doesnt happen if they dont do things differently than the traditional powers. THey have no choice but to do things different and for some reason it drives alot of you crazy.
