Sadly, those of whom you speak haven't attained enlightenment. If they would step outside themselves for a moment, they would see that Domers (ND fans) provide a great service. By the example they set, by their very existence, Domers provide an example by which all other teams' fans may excuse themselves their excesses, their lapses, their inexcusable slights given to others. Yea, Domers are a gift to all.

For example, take Brian Downing, the tea-bagging Bammer. His shame should be unbearable, but he has an irrational outlet. Though there be nothing to it, he can declare, "At least, I'm not a Notre Dame fan." Hearing this, others will nod in agreement, even those dumbfounded and incredulous.

I love Domers. Ever do they have my appreciation and thanks. When Domers say, "This will be the year!" Or, when they say, "Wait tip next year!" I am comforted. My own fandom is given greater perspective.
