Think the Dodgers and Redsox stand a good chance at signing him as well.
I wonder if the Rangers will go after him and whether already having Darvish on board might make them more attractive to Tanaka. Should be interesting to see which team lands him.

I expect quite a bidding war to ensue. Probably six or more teams are prepared to pay the $20 million posting fee on top of a long-term contract
I think if he waited a year, the Red Sox would be more in it. But they are full at pitching and really don't have the spot for him.
I think the Dodgers, Diamond Backs, Cubs, and Yankees are the top 4 to land him. The Red Sox in it will probably just be to drive the price up on the Yankees.
After signing Choo, I doubt they go hard after him.
He will probably get more than Darvish, which is scary. Always a question mark with these pitchers coming over and how they will adjust. But somebody will pay for him and pay big time.

Choo and Fielder definitely increaed the payroll, but Texas ownership has shown a strong commitment in the past to fielding the strongest possible team. I definitely expect the Rangers to go hard after Tanaka. Having him and Darvish on the squad would presumably increase the value of the naming rights to their park, which are currently unsold, quite a bit.
idk from what I heard if the Rangers didn't sign Choo they would be in on it, but since they got Choo they are out. I haven't heard anything about the Rangers going after Tanaka now that they got Choo.
I think a lot of teams will be in on Tanaka, including the Rangers. Some will be in it for real, others may be in it just to jack up the price to fuck the Yankees over.
I expect Tanaka will get the biggest pitching contract in the history of baseball, until Kershaw's extension gets done anyway.
