I also think it is a bit unfair to call Crosby's persona as robotesque. The guy can do nothing right it seems. If he speaks his mind, he is called a whiner. If he says the vanilla stuff, he is called a robot. His personality is distinct and absolutely fine. I am just making the point that public personas and the such are often contrived, and brutal honesty can be refreshing.

i found myself getting increasingly more disturbed with this thread by the post...then came the scientist jokes. anyway, as a female i classify OV as a douche because he obviously treats women poorly...that SAID the women are obviously on the promiscuous side (obviously.......), however that doesn't change the fact that he acts like a complete idiot. i'm sorry, i know some (not singling out anyone, just making an observation on men i know in general) men seem to aspire to just galavant around thinking with their other heads, but it's just immature and douchey. sorry, that's just my female take on the article. doesn't change the fact that he's possibly the most talented player in the NHL though...just an assessment of his character.

eh, i understand the boys will be boys thing, it's just the whole this guy is in the spotlight and outwardly acknowledges his 'bad' decisions and flaunts them. just saying that if i were a parent, i don't think i'd want my son to keep them as an idol or anything (and i know that argument bothers some...but the fact is pro athletes are idolized and HAVE to be held to a higher standard...it's part of the job and why they're paid so much.

i'd agree...if his private life were actually private. i mean, he doesn't HAVE to say these things in these interviews. heck, he could just give a wry smile and say "next question" and let our minds wander. JMO though, not asking everyone to accept it, just respect it. and i respect your's, i really do.
