...except the butt-hurt Seattle fan who posted earlier. So he can say something and I can't respond? Do you live in Ferguson, MO?

I suggest that if you find offense to my opinions then don't read my posts.

You can respond all you want pal. Although you're trying really hard to project it, I'm not the one being touchy here. I just said that you always seem to have something bitchy to say to Hawk fans, and I'm right. I have no problem with, I've never said anything before about it because I dont care really. Just another anonymous asshole as far I'm concerned. Just something I noticed, so I when I see you call others butthurt I happen to think about your own whiny and butthurt comments. Again, I have no problem with it, I guess we'll see if you do.

No offense but that's easy to say when you're on top.

Sure it easy to say when your on top, however you don't need to be on top. All you need is a team headed in the right direction. You need a team that can actual compete right now. Don't have to win it all, just look like your getting better. This talk of old victories surely doesn't make watching a team that just doesn't stand a chance now or in the near future any better to enjoy. Heck a lot of these highlights of teams history happen before some fans were born.

I'm gonna have to disagree, as a Twins fan it pains me to watch them suck but on the flip they have won two World Championships in my life so it's less painful. Now on the other hand being a Vikings fan and see them rise only to fail means nothing to me. Headed in the right direction means nothing if you don't win the prize.

Does anything beyond what is happening right now really matter? Surely no one is sitting on their coach saying....well we look like shit, but that's Ok because we won some time in the past? I think not.

Ummmm..... Yeah. Im laying here on Jim Caldwell, proud as hell my Grandfather got to watch Doak Walker when he was my age.

LOL Depends on just what is happening now, I suppose. In a few weeks, months, years, or even decades the past, present or future might look better or worse than it now, will, or once looked. Whether or not one cares about history might depend only on his disposition towards Einstein's theory of relativity. :noidea:

If the Seahawks dont win the SB this year, last years will not offer consolation.

Interesting. How general is that attitude? For example, do you care nothing about your own personal past achievements? What about those of your family, school, state, or country? Even if none of those things mean anything to you personally, are you at least able to understand why they might mean something to others?

I'm a general contractor. My life is structured on individual goals, each one unique and each one with a lot riding on it. Failure to complete a goal in the expected manner is never made up for by past successes. In fact, as expectations increase and failures decrease, those failures become more painful when they do happen. Personal past achievements remind you of what you're capable of for the next opportunity but its not a bandaid for failure.

Got it. Admirable that you set your sights only on the future. That said, I'm surprised that this topic -- ranking teams in terms of All-Time Greatness -- was even worth your time.

Really? Seems pretty evident to me that if I only care about the future, I have no interest in the past.

When it comes to goals, yes I am only interested in what happens currently and in the future. Because after this goal, there's another one.

But that doesn't mean that I dont acknowledge the past. Nice reach.

Playoff losses are always disappointing. Same with just missing the playoffs. I have a hard time believing that they will somehow be less disappointing now that the Hawks won one. After a team wins so many should fans even watch any more or should they just be grateful for what they have seen over the years?

"Nice reach". LOL I'm reaching for nothing. You posted in a thread about "All-Time Greatness" that Seattle having won the SB last year means nothing to you if they don't repeat this year. You really don't understand the inconsistency of that post with the topic of this thread?

It means nothing as far as this year. That's not the same as it meaning nothing at all. I'm still going to appreciate it, but its not going to make a playoff loss any easier. Where is the disconnect here?

Your not? After reading through some of your posts there is definitely a trend. Yes, yes I am an anonymous asshole. Whatever. Try being more subtle next time. If you didn't have any problems you wouldn't have responded to my posts in the first place. Sorry that my opinions hurt your fragile ego.

Maybe you should take your own advice... Pal.
