In all seriousness though, why in the hell do pro athletes get DUIs so often? They can afford car service/cabs/drivers/limos/etc. Such a waste. Obviously never worth the risk to others, but I don't understand how this keeps happening.

Jeez, you dummy, you got picked up about a block from the arena going the wrong way down a one way. Although to be fair, Pearl Street is a drunk magnet, with a Big Boy, Burger King, and Adobe all right next to a college campus. When you're drunk you only want two things, and you want 'em pretty bad...

If I were Riley's attorney, I might advise him to "plead Canadian" in this situation. Now I'm not exactly sure what that is (perhaps an approach similar to that of Unfrozen Caveman Lawyer), but it seems no less ridiculous than a "superdrunk" law and I'm fairly convinced that it would superwork.

the prosecution could just say he's superman, so everything he does is therefore super, rendering him simply drunk and operating a vehicle. that's the route i'd go if we were in the same courtroom.

Pretty sure he's super-screwed, since he's underage and superdrunk.

It didn't help that when the officer asked to see his license, Riley gave him this...

When you make the kind of money to where you can afford a six figure car, you want to drive it.

And some of these kids have lived their whole life thinking they are above the rules of commoners.

Dangerous mix.

This ^^^^^^ See Pat Kane. Although he did have his mishap with a cabby he's still a punk. He thinks he's above the law.

My cousins in Orchard Park used to play against Patty growing up. Apparently he's always been a dick, even though he wasn't anything 'special' until about 15 or 16.
