Hey guys
What is your take on TJ Ward?
The Panthers could use some good safety help.
Thanks

Ward is solid, good leader. teammates love him. Well liked. He is what he is and what he has been since his carer starter so not much else then what you see of him on the field.

Great in the box, can hit and tackle. No nonsense player. Don't put him in deep coverage, not his thing. My only knock really is he is known for stupid penalties, mostly frustration penalties.

Carolina would be fitting, a need and he did scoop up the fumble to seal the SB victory.

Not oppose to trading Ward, but IMO a 4th is not worth it. Why not just keep him around for another year oppose to getting a 4th in return? I would want a 3rd at the least to make it worth trading him. If he leaves after this year and we miss out on a 4th that was offered because of it, then oh well.

Simmons is going to be ready to start if not this year, by next year. He hasn't played strong for Denver but most likely could play either. Will Parks is more depth guy then anything, IMO sorta like Bruton. Can start if needed, don't really want him starting a full year but comfortable with him starting here and there like Bruton and Jamal Carter will be used a lot like Ward is now.

What surprised me is that we are initiating the calls.

If we don't re-sign him this year and he leaves via FA what's the highest comp pick we could get? I'd totally be ok with not trading him if we can get a 3rd rounder comp pick.

We've been screwed too many times to rely on that. If we got a 4th, I'd take it. Especially from the Jets.

we wouldnt get a third for him... no way in heck. those are for the guys getting 10+ mil a year. I would be shocked if he got more than 6 given his age, declining play, and injury history. Also safety is one of the least paid positions. I would expect a 6th BUT that would mean we couldnt sign an equivalent contract or they would cancel each other out

I'd want multiple picks or a player and a pick if anything.

He's too good and well liked for this D to give for a 4th just because of FA. It isn't high enough of a pick for his level of play. I'd rather have him for a year. If we trade him it really sends me a signal what we think of our chances this year, which I wouldn't blame the team in one way given our offense.

and yes. I know we are high on Simmons, but to me I'd ride Ward out. He may find his best offer on the open market is to return to us, or we may just say after this year. Thanks for the 4 years Justin Simmons is our future.

Also ahve to remember you just don't get a comp pick for every player you lose. There is a formula... Amount lost, amount gained. Salary.

That being said. I keep him over getting a 4th round pick from someone else from him.

Why do people think the Jets want him?

They just spent their first and second rd pick on safeties and are rebuilding. Come on folks!

I don't think the jets want him; I just think the jets will suck and we'll have a higher 4th rd pick. :)

This aint Madden football where you can trade anyone to whomever.

They just used the 6th overall pick to draft Jamal Adams. Use their high 2nd to draft Marcus Maye. They aren't trading for him. It makes ZERO sense for the Jets.

Carolina- That makes sense.

I think this is Elway's way to tell TJ. You really want to be a Bronco? Well then, lets come up with a fair deal or you won't be here even this year. Elway has a non nonsense approach with players.

Another thing with Ward... He is starting to get dinged up quite a bit.

I think DC is correct - just throwing names out there in conversations seeing what people seem interested in and for what. In fact - the Broncos likely aren't even throwing the name out there they could probably trade - just hoping someone will say they are interested in a WR - well, well, well - now that you mention it - we have a good stock of WRs.

There are going to be some good players cut at the end - all over the league.

Hope theres some Olineman. We're desperate for depth or even an upgrade over Garcia/McGovern potential starters. Look at any O line Dallas,Titans,Cleveland,Raiders try to slip thru or have no room.

We don't have any Te's with trade value except Butt and he ain't going anywhere this year anyway. The wr 's other than projected starters would be hard to garnish a 7th rd pick . What would you give for Latimore or Sunshine based on their production up to this point ? Cash or 4th string Lb ? When you see some players you think are pretty decent going for 5-7 rd pk's, don't expect Denver to get some awesome trade with any of their " expendable " guys. It would take a DT or Sanders for example, to get Denver a 3rd and maybe a 5th in draft. Denver doesn't have any players on roster on O side of ball that make you go WOW ! That guy is game changer ! It's the reality. On D, obviously Von. Talib, Harris definitely get people to listen. Other than that, your prob looking 4-7 rd pick on rest of D. IMO of course :)

See my post above.
You're dreaming to get a 4th. Stoned out of your mind dreaming. My point was if we do trade him, I hope it's to a crappy team, to get the highest pick possible in that round.

I already said I mentioned the jets because they were the first suck team that came to mind. Why go into why they wouldn't take him if I explained that wasn't my point?

You weren't the only one claiming the Jets you bonehead. Don't take it so personal. There are more peope posting in this thread then you.

and yes, we could get a 4th for him. But I wouldn't do it for a 4th.

Whose the stoned one?

You floating on weed or water in Houston?
