So SI just did an article and I guess because of the threat of snow they have put in a plan to be able to move the Super Bowl to either the Saturday before or Monday after if need be. To me this just screams PR nightmare for the NFL. Why oh why take the chance of having to do something like that? I understand NY is a huge market but if the Super Bowl game actually has to be moved I think the NFL would have a full blown riot on their hands from fans.

Moving the Superbowl a day back or forward because of the weather may be the dumbest thing the NFL has ever come up with.

There are already thousands of people with Hotel Reservations, flight reservations, and most of them can't be changed.

Their insistence on having one in the NY area is going to end up biting them in the ass.

Couldn't agree more. As much as I love the Super Bowl; I kind of hope it's a clustermess this year, so there's alot of backlash and they never insist on this again.

It's gonna sell out in like 4 minutes and there will be hundreds of millions of dollars to be made anyways.....regardless of where the game is played.

My prediction is that the weather in the Louisiana Superdome, University of Phoenix Stadium, Sun Life Stadium, Qualcomm Stadium, Lucas Field, and Ford Field will have much better weather than MetLife stadium. The NFL is playing with fire. Stupid decision to play the SB in NJ. The NFL better hope that they don't have the same conditions we saw in Philly a few weeks ago! Some snow is ok but the wind at that place can be downright terrible that time of year and can adversely affect the game.

My take on this, is that this whole scenario is just another fuck-up by the NFL in a mounting litany of missteps that they have made since Roger Goodell took over. I can't stand that jackass.

They seem to be doing everything in their power to tweak the game in one way or another, and the results are more negative than positive. The NFL was already booming, and part of that success was due to it's stability over time. Now they are turning it into somewhat of a circus.

I assume that all of these changes are motivated by profit, but I don't think they are considering the long-term ramifications of the changes: they are alienating the fans who have been watching the game for 20, 30, or 40+ years by bringing about too much change to the game in too short of a time. And I can't help but wonder if some of the motivation for the various changes they have brought about in recent years is nothing more than the arrogance of trying to make the product "their own".

Having said all that, I think if the game had a little snow it would be awesome - just not if it falls on a Monday.

Sorry for the rant and getting off topic a bit.

The Rose Bowl in Pasadena is a nice venue. Just make the change already......I mean, it is close to ORANGE County. Can't think of a better spot, lol.......

Either way, snow or not, it is going to be cold. (If we are fortunate enough to make it, prepare yourselves for 2 solid weeks of yacking from the talking heads about how Peyton Manning can't play in the cold.)
