Well, I woke up Sunday morning
With no way to hold my head that didn't hurt.
And the beer I had for breakfast wasn't bad,
So I had one more for dessert.
Then I fumbled in my closet through my clothes
And found my cleanest dirty shirt.
Then I washed my face and combed my hair
And stumbled down the stairs to meet the day.

I'd smoked my mind the night before
With cigarettes and songs I'd been picking.
But I lit my first and watched a small kid
Playing with a can that he was kicking.
Then I walked across the street
And caught the Sunday smell of someone frying chicken.
And Lord, it took me back to something that I'd lost
Somewhere, somehow along the way.

On a Sunday morning sidewalk,
I'm wishing, Lord, that I was stoned.
'Cause there's something in a Sunday
That makes a body feel alone.
And there's nothing short a' dying
That's half as lonesome as the sound
Of the sleeping city sidewalk
And Sunday morning coming down.

In the park I saw a daddy
With a laughing little girl that he was swinging.
And I stopped beside a Sunday school
And listened to the songs they were singing.
Then I headed down the street,
And somewhere far away a lonely bell was ringing,
And it echoed through the canyon
Like the disappearing dreams of yesterday.

Hey Biz, been very well thanks. (knocks wood) Everything and everyone has been going rather smooth lately. How 'bout yourself? Aside from having to waste valuable off time on work related bullshit that is. lol

Actually, the conference itself is something that I am REALLY looking forward to. Not a sales meeting, but a 3 day full P.D. conference with some big deal attendees and keynotes.
(I am on the host side, not the attendee side)

This is a pretty big deal that we host every year at different Universitys (this year at Georgetown, so "luckily" in driving distance), with multiple breakout sessions for professional development, with peer to peer seesdions from the experts in the education IT space.
(Plus a welcome reception gala at Smithsonian Air + Space that ought to be top notch. read: free booze)

I just drew the short straw on the ride. Was hoping to fly, but geography turned against us. lol

Totally looking forward to being back in DC though (went to college in the area)

still married.
still have a 3.5 going on 13 year old who wants to be either a hockey player or Spiderman when he grows up.
Still gainfully employed.

On the docket for today; procrastination. I need to change the oil, find a leak, and swap the spark plugs in the wife's car. I need to mow the lawn and clean the garage as well. More than likely this all gets stretched into an all day event as I'm not feeling too froggy.

Tonight I plan on putting some wine on my credit card...
