if this guy was picked in round 4 or 5 i wouldnt have disliked the pick . his RAS suggests thst is where he should have landed . much like mathis being in round 2 i just feel the value isnt there

that being said he can help the team but i just dont like 2nd and 3rd round picks being in back roles when we needed starters

If the players perform who cares on what round they were picked in. The team liked these guys for a reason. Both of these guys will see significant time this year so you cant call them backup players.

So lets say Phil and Robinson don't get drafted until the 4th and 5th round. Then you don't Butler, Howell or Turner in theory. Who would you have instead of those three?

The idea is to bring in as much talent as you can . When you reach for prospects you can get later you limit that . It’s pretty simple dean and good teams draft for value

i most certainly can determine that and i will . if brisker is a better player then mathis at a position of need at safety and i pick up mathis in round 3 i get both positions addressed at the appropriate draft spot

I meant right now. We don't know how these players will turn out. Plus you cant guarantee Mathis would of been there in the 3rd round.

i dont care what you mean because my beef isnt about whether they do things or not , its about being improperly drafted and not allowing us to maximize the draft to its fullest . reaching for players doesnt maximize anything

i know its a reach based on where they were projected to go dean . from a draft already conducted ,

remember trent murphy dean ?

your new standard didnt apply then now did it ? i believe reach was certainly applied in that instance because you didnt like the pick and felt it should have been moses

you really dont have core values in the draft dean , its always about fitting into your narrative at the time

for 20 plus years at espn and here my draft philosophy has been the same
