No kidding. Think what he means is that it's no good for NHL REVENUES.

Even still. They don't shorten the NHL season in Olympic years. Lockouts sure do though Mr. Snyder. By many accounts he was among the most hawkish owners in the last lockout.

But as far as NHL revenues go, back when I held a mini-pack with the Senators I enjoyed the Olympic break because it means you can end up attending more games if you travel during the winter.

From that perspective I can sort of see it...but the same amount of games are happening this year, with more outdoor games. The fans enjoy seeing these guys play. The only way I could see it affecting the league revenue would be a dip in jerseys because people are buying olympic stuff. And that's a strettttch.

Ed Snider calls Olympics a "farce." Says Giroux is "better than half the guys" on Team Canada. #Flyers

Giroux is actually tops in the Nhl in points since November 11th with 35. That's almost a three month span during the heart of the season, so I actually agree with Snider. He may be exaggerating slightly to further illustrate his point, but the recent numbers say he's right. I'm happy for the Flyers and Team USA that G did not get selected, but he definitely deserved to go.

I count 38 points for Marty St. Louis since November 11th, 18 goals and 20 assists.

I counted from the wrong month. It's actually 47 points for Giroux over that span. 48 if you count his goal tonight.

But that also makes it two months rather than three.

Alright, I'll take your word for it. So the guy who is running away with the scoring title has more points over the same stretch. Anyone else? The point is he's currently playing at a level that is higher than that of half of Team Canada, so it's not an absurd statement.
