I forget what he's guaranteed thus far in his contract but I'm sure it was a boat load, so if they were to part ways with him it would pile up a lot of dead money (plus his signing bonus). Not sure that it would be smart to do that unless the pattern continues.

Yea I have the same concern with him as well. I talked a little about keeping Velasco over Pouncey because of it. But I think they made the right decision because Maurkice is a helluva leader to that group. And you can't put a price on that, nor can you coach it.

Much can be debated over Luck being top 5... But I think this list is pretty close to perfect, but with one black eye on it. And that is Joe Flacco at 10... I wouldn't put Flacco in the top 10, probably not even top 15. Jaws has always had a boner for Flacco, so it was pretty much expected.

I think people tend to put Luck ahead of Ben on the basis of potential. Both age and checkered past makes a lot of people doubt Ben. Obviously if these lists were more based on achievements then there would be no way that Luck is put ahead of Ben. But even still... I've seen Luck's stats, percentages/accuracy/ratings/etc, and Luck has yet to top Ben in many many MANY categories. But he is incredibly young, and has a lot of talent for his age. Ranking him at 5 is a bit premature at this point, but it's a pretty safe bet that he will be top 5 for the majority of his career down the road.
