No, you never should pull off another players helmet and conk them in the head. That is plain simple ASSAULT!!!

Then Rudolph attempts an assault first - as he tries to rip Garretts helmet off.

Garrett subsequently only swings when - while being pushed away by De Castro - Rudolph charges from several yards away AROUND De Castro at him. Garretts swing with the hlemet is in clear reaction to Rudolph charging him.

DeCastro? All I could tell was he was trying to keep Garrett subdued and keep him away from Mason.

De Castro - of the three Steelers involved - is the only one who reacted in the way he should have. Him facing any punishment would be absolutely ridiculous.

Are you terminally fucking stupid or what?

pulling off someone's helmet is in no way as egregious as both pulling it off and braining their defenseless head with it.

Disagree?

OK, if you disagree, we can meet both wearing helmets. You get to try to pull mine off but not succeed. I get to pull yours off and full arc swing brain you with it.

Wanna do it? C'mon, it's the same thing.

Lol now he's a victim

Jesus.

The only thing he was a victim of is getting owned by the browns pass defense.
Yes, you fucking retard.
Getting hit in the unprotected head with a helmet makes him the victim of assault.

Are you Garetts mother?

You are missing the part between points 2 and 3 that instead of releasing Rudolph Garrett decides he'd twist Rudolph again so he can pin him to the turf.

You are an idiot if you think Garret actually pinned Rudoplh down after the twist. Garrett could not even release Rudolph because Rudolph ha dgrabbed Garrett's head with BOTH hands. Which you can actually see when Rudolph rolls off Garret at 1:30 into this youtube clip.

Patently obvious from this clip:

- Garret has already initiated the tackle before Rudolph has actually completely released the ball (no longer has any contact with it. Within the same second (between Rudolp starting the throw and Garrett having his arms actually wrapped around Rudolph (well before the ball is actually caught - which almost has a full yard to travel before the actual catch). At 1:27 into the clip.

- At that point (the moment the ball is caught) Garrett is already dragging Rudolph down (literally hanging off of him) (at 1:28)

- At 1:29, Garrett hits the ground, with Rudolph landing ON TOP of Garrett.

- At 1:30 Garrett actually realeases Rudolph (hands have clearly let go). Rudolph rolls off of him, and clealr has the helmet and facemask of Garrett in his grasp, actually pulling Garrett's head down.

So I see no additional twisting after the initial takedown (with Rudolph landing on top of Garrett), Garrett clearly releasing Rudolph immediately after, with Rudolph rolling off of Garrett, and then Rudolph at that point having hold of Garrett's helmet.

EDIT:

At 1:47 (when Rudolph is rolling off of Garret (and at which time according to the shots at 1:29-1:30) Garrett has released Rudolph, Rudolph clearly has Garrett's helmet in his grasp with BOTH hands (one in back, one in facemask), and actually almost succeeds in ripping it off (see 1:50).

Technically it's battery

How about not start shit with a guy much larger than you? That all factors in. It's not like Myles just walked up to him and unprovoked ripped his helmet off and hit him with it

That's why he isn't a victim.

He's also not a "victim" because of the harsh and racist words that Rudolph likely said while on the ground.

Addition:

There is also nearly two full seconds in the clip (in slomo) between Rudolph making contact charging in on Garret being pushed away by De Castro, and Garrett actually swinging. At roughly 1:50.

Right. It's messed up they keep cutting that part out. Like I said earlier there's no excuse for his actions but they are cutting and pasting like Randolph did nothing.

But let's flip it....let's say Randolph hit Garret with a helmet and then Garrett and Ogonjobi started kicking Randolph in his helmet like was done to Myles how does that play?

Pouncey is definitely getting suspended.

Steelers: "Thank God Vontez Burfict is out of the division"

Myles Garrett: "Hold my beer!"
