He never fit in here, and there's no real spot for him this year. A team like Toronto could benefit a lot more from him. And I believe you are correct, so a 2nd a 4th for a guy we probably weren't resigning, I'll take it.

Correct. However, keep in mind that we traded a second rounder to get Arnott in the first place (99% sure), so essentially we ended up with an extra 4th in the end.

Well if the Devils are getting younger, that must mean the NHL must be looking to close a "loophole" and trying to make sure players are atleast 30, right?

Uncle Lou has really started showing faith in young players the last few years. Teds, JJ, Fayne, Larsson, Palmieri, Henrique this year.

When you have a team full of vets like we have the past couple of years, there is not urgency. The guys have won it before, they can retire happy knowing that they have won the cup before. You need a good number of young guys that are hungry, that haven't been there before. I think we have a good mix going on this year. Couple of older guys (Marty, Elias) guys in their prime (Parise, Kovy) and the young guys.

I think we'll be Ok until Travis gets back. We're young at the position with Henrique and JJ. However, Elias, Zubrus, and pelley can all play center if they need to.

Well i liked really liked the Parise-Elias-Sykora line. But i don't know now are we going to be putting Sykora at Center? It's bad enough that we play Patty there! It's clear he doesn't enjoy it or perform as effectively there.

Think i read somewhere Lou quoting that Sykora can play at Center as well as the Wing and now seeing Steckel traded makes me think that's the idea. Suppose Petr will just be happy to be staying regardless.

Got lots of catching up to do, but losing Steckel isn't a big deal for us. Sykora being added may pay off in the season, got a good feeling about it.
