Starting RB help please!

I need to start two running backs out of the list below:

Forte
Chris Johnson vs. ARI
Ryan Mathews @ DEN
CJ Spiller @ JAX

Forte is a starting for sure

Johnson is going against ARI and they have a pretty salty run D.

Mathews is going against the Broncos run D which is average, but the short week away game (Thurs night) scares me and if the Broncos get up big SD will just throw.

Spiller has a great matchup, but I can't seem to trust the guy. He should put up monster numbers, but with Fred Jackson still splitting carries and Spiller underachieving this year I'm scared to trust him.

I'm leaning on starting Chris Johnson because he's well Chris Johnson and he's at home.

Who would you start with Forte??????

I would go with Spiller I think. Jackson and Spiller should both get decent numbers and there is always the chance Spiller is the lucky one and has a better game than Fred. With Spiller, there is almost no chance he will completely bust. Remember though, I said "almost"!

Yeah, Spiller. The others are just too bad of a matchup to "risk" it. At least Spiller has a shot. Zona's defense should gobble up CJ and Mathews might not see the field in the 2nd half.

I can't believe I'm saying this but I'd go with Mathews as the second RB. Can't recommend anyone (except AP or Forte) against AZ. Spiller has just been too hit or miss for my liking, while Mathews has actually been pretty good of late.

nothing CBS says or writes ever changes my mind...

not like it is gonna work but I see the Chargers at least trying to run the ball and keep it out of Mannings hands................Matthews has been decent lately and I just don't trust Spiller.

but hard to argue with this... other than to say you're going for the HR with Spiller that might put you over the top vs Mathews playing well, but highly likely to be lost while playing from behind.

I would not play CJ?K vs Arizona, not only is it a tough match up, but plodding loser Shonn Greene actually played a couple series without CJ?K last week. That's a little bit more of a role than just a GL vulture, which sucks for CJ owners. Spiller vs Mathews? coin flip imo. If DEN gets off to a good start (which has NOT happened the last couple weeks) we'll see a ton of Ronnie Brown and Danny Woodhead. Flip side - hard to tell what you will get from Spiller/FJax week to week, and BUF hasn't done much recently for me to put much faith in either RB.

I'll give slight edge to Mathews, with Spiller a close 2nd, and CJ a distant 3rd.

Here's another side note about Mathews:

He had 29 carries this past Sunday. That's an awful lot for someone who has to play on a short week. Why would you do that to him knowing that you would need a ball control offense 4 days later on the road against Denver?

Does that alter your decision on Mathews?

• CJ may be a lock for at least double-digit points. His last single-digit game came back on week 6 vs SEA.
• I'd remove Mathews from the equation. SD vs DEN means that at some point (like midway thru the 1st qtr), the Bolts abandon the run and start passing.
• Spiller is untrustworthy, but I have a feeling about him in this game that he may go off. If only to frustrate his fantasy owners who bench him this week. (But I've been wrong a lot this year.)

Oops! I should point out that I was looking at PPR stats for these guys. If this is a standard league, I'd go with Spiller.

Jacksonville has had a tough time stopping opposing rushers, allowing them to go for 18.08 Fantasy points per game. Through 13 games, the team has allowed 16 rushing touchdowns. Opposing running back have also averaged 102.92 yards per game against Jacksonville.

What cbs didnt tell u is no 100 yd rusher in 5 weeks with titans 1 of the games

Matthews got 11 points last game 59 yds 1 TD

Johnson has overcome a four-game span in which he gained just 110 yards to put himself on the verge of another 1,000-yard season.

zona just gave up 100 yds last 2 games phi/stl
