Tim Thomas career stats against Vancouver:

W-L: 3-0
GAA: 0.33
Save percentage: .990

Granted, it's a small sample size, but impressive nonetheless...

Sedins in 4 games vs Boston: 0G, 0A, -5. so there.

and someone needs to up mattola's dosage.
this is going to be a long 5 days

Flames Central turning into Canucks Central?!? Blasphemy.

Even downtown’s Flames Central is preparing to turn the building into an all-blue Canucks headquarters.

General manager Jenna Kopperson said it’s been long enough since the Flames lost their bid for the playoffs the pain has worn off and fans are willing to embrace Canada’s only remaining team.

Flames Central has seen an increasing number of Team Canada jerseys within the sea of blue.

“I think fans are just really happy to see that any Canadian team is still left,” Kopperson said.

“There was a bit of a backlash from Flames fans at first, but that was quite awhile ago. Now everyone’s willing to welcome Canucks fans,” she said.

Day-to-day, according to AV. Won't discuss line-up for Game 1.

Fun with trends:

Good news if your a Bruins fans. The last 4 teams that won a Game 7 in the conference finals went on to win the Stanley Cup(2002 Wings, 2003 Devils, 2004 Bolts, 2006 Hurricanes). Should be worth noting though all of those teams had home ice advantage for those Finals where as Boston doesn't.

Been told Refs for finals are O'Rourke, Walkom, O'Hallaran + Sutherland. Racicot, Miller, Morin + Jay Sharrers are linesmen.

Dan Murphy tweet.

Malhotra has been cleared to play!
awesome, awesome news.
If he gets back up to speed, that allows him to concentrate on shutdown role, and kesler to lean over to production. makes us a much more dangerous team.
If he's not up to speed, I'm sure his 4 min per game will still be mroe valuable that Hodgson's 4 minutes per game.

Canucks have only lost 6 games in the playoffs so far.
I believe we are 0 and 4 with O'Rourke reffing.

Tony Gallagher polishes off his schmarmy douchebag tin-foil hat
Conflict of interest too big to ignore - Gallagher

:tinfoil3: :L

Nice wrap-up on the article, Tony...

There are quiet whispers the NHL is finally getting the message and Campbell will not be in this position after this summer. But is it too little, too late for everyone's enjoyment of this final?

Aren't the Canucks the prohibitive favorite going into this series?

Looks like Flames Central is doing some fancy backpedalling based on the Calgary Herald article...They posted the following on Calgarypuck (unofficial forum of the Calgary Flames).

HI Everyone,

Thanks for sharing your input on the Calgary Herald Article that has recently been published. We understand everyone's concern, however it seems that facts have been misconstrued. NEVER would we ever become "Canucks Central"!!! We are and ALWAYS WILL BE Flames Central!

We welcome ALL Hockey Fans, but Flames Central always bleeds RED!

Good luck to both teams in the finals..should be a good series to watch.

Thanks again for your concern and input.

As much focus as there will be on the key players (Sedins, Kesler, Luongo for Vancouver and Chara, Lucic, Bergy and Thomas for Boston), they may just cancel each other out and the secondary guys could prove to be the difference in this series. Bieksa has had a fantastic 2 months for the Canucks and is a darkhorse for the Conn Smythe, Sami Salo is also playing great on the backend. Can Johnny Boychuk and Dennis Seidenberg continue playing well for the Bruins? David Krejci and Nathan Horton need to bring their best efforts for the Bruins to have a chance. Can't wait to see what the 'Green Men' cook up for Don Cherry and Zdeno Chara.
