Back in 2011, Colin Campbell was in charge of supplementary discipline. He stepped down from that role temporarily when the Canucks faced the Bruins in the Stanley Cup Final. The reason he stepped down is that his son Gregory Campbell played for Boston. If you recall, Aaron Rome of the Canucks was suspended for four games in that series for his hit on Nathan Horton.

The only reason from bringing up that bit of history is that Gregory Campbell is currently the assistant GM of the Florida Panthers and Colin Campbell still has a job high up in the NHL executive.

The more times I watch that, the more times I think Draisaitl should be suspended. Yes, I loathe the Oilers, but if you put my bias aside, that's exactly the type of hit the league continually says they want to eliminate from the game.

100% . I was even questioning it a little from the original angle I saw it at, but once I saw that one I am convinced that is a minimum 1 game suspension

After getting it wrong and not punishing Bennett for changing the trajectory of a hit to deliver a blow to the face of the opponent's star, the league should really be careful here. They fail to punish this one too, and they have essentially legalized headhunting.

Which means McDavid is gonna need more than a beard-aid for the next one.

it is 2 games in and the officiating is already off the rails. I would say the Oilers are getting 2011 Bruin'd but its happening on both sides and the refs have zero control on either side.
