We still need to stick with Davis, he's a first year QB and is going to have some rough times, Hill plain and simple sucks! And if we have nothing to lose at this point in the season then we might as well stick with Davis. Hill would already be hurt again the way the Oline is playing, I mean not playing!
:agree: Totally!

Continue to make positive changes in our OL.

Even MM can't work miracles whilst getting crushed time and time again.

I didn't say that, I said the game changed before that when we didn't score when we had a great chance to score 3 if not 7

Bottom line Smed, we did not take advantage of the Olgletree INT in the third quarter and score some points when presented with that opportunity when the game was still 14-10.:gaah:

On we go 3-6 and we face Denver at home with Manning having a huge game today against the Raiders.

Ya that's what I'm saying, we needed to, we had to score at least 3, if not 7 there and we didn't, yet again!

I would agree if Davis had shown progress from when he was first put in there but I haven't seen anything of the sort and he doesn't seem to know how to make adjustments at all or find the open receiver's a lot of the time. Not like it will matter who will QB next week however as we'll be led to the slaughter with Denver coming in.
It's still kind of a wait and see UVA Guy.

Defense's now have some good tape on the guy and understand what he wants to do. Now it's time for Davis to step up and study tape to see and understand what they are doing now and how to beat them. That doesn't happen in just a few games and why teams need to be patient with a guy who showed promise early and is now challenged.

He can make adjustments to the adjustments DC's are now throwing at him.

Whether he can or not will only be realized by sticking with the youngster and seeing what he's got.

And likely 3-8 going into the home game against Oakland. :facepalm5:

Time to move on from Davis, he just doesn't understand a complex defense. 49ers and Cardinals have proven that and he is not going to get any better. Just put in Shaun Hill and see if we can win a couple of games at the end of this year.

Where it would have been nice to score in that situation and certainly would have helped, I just view those plays as part of what was already going on in the game and not game changers. Those type of plays happen in defensive struggles and to that point (14-10 through 3+ quarters) it more of the same and not an actual game changer to me.

By the way, it was you who corrected me on this, not I you.

Cheers brother! :suds:

He should have been doing that a long time ago though. It's one thing to make the mistake once and learn from it but from what I've seen, he's making the same ones over and over and over again.

What I don't understand is we continually go away from things that work to something that just sets people up for failure. Williams was allowing Laurinaitus to use hand signals to call blitzes throughout most of the game and then when Palmer went down and Stanton comes in, we stopped it immediately. The Cards however blitzed us to the very end of the game. Doesn't make a lick of sense.

On offense, we ran that quick hand-off to Austin in the first quarter and he had a big gainer and almost broke it. We tried it three times with good gains 2 out of the 3. Then it disappeared and we never saw it again. Then Shittenehimer gets some sort of wild hair up his ass for Peterson in the second half and just kept throwing the ball at him till Peterson picked it off. Another, it doesn't make a lick of sense.

I have often stated that this mess is a complex conflagaration of factors that I have chronicled many times that lead to these collossal collapses.
We often agree Retro.

Certainly wasn't bunching you in with that crowd.

It's the 'Set Fire' to this guy or that guy folks.

Yea, UVA. That repeat pattern with Davis is he is routinely missing wide-open receivers for double-covered ones. This habit started about three games ago and it continues.

I know what you're saying Vita, I'm just saying if we score a TD there we are up 21-10 and then Stanton comes in and they score, we are still up 21-17, or worse case it's still 17-17 and we are still in the game. I guess it all doesn't matter because what happened is what happened, it just irritates me that we have been blown out in 3 games this year, this one, the SF game, and the Minnesota game, yet we were in all the games

Again, Shaun "over the" Hill is not going to be better than Davis. This game reminds of the Minnesota game where we were in the game right before halftime and Hill threw the interception that led to a TD and things just snowballed from there. Davis has much more upside and gives us a better chance of winning any more games this year!

Davis isn't going to be replaced by anyone this year unless he gets hurt. The organization likes him and so does the majority of his teammates. As Howie Long stated, the Rams are improving and are close to taking that next step but it doesn't appear that way to many of us who can still see the mistakes that just kill us. So, we are just going to have to go with the rest of the season as is. WE may win 5 games or so but this is going to be another tough year.

If we didn't keep making the same mistakes over and over again, I'd be more inclined to agree with Howie. I see maybe 2 more wins on the schedule this year, with Oakland and Washington. Only other game we'd even possibly have a slight chance in is possibly against the Giants since they have been very lackluster this year. So I don't really see much more than 5 or 6 wins at the most for this team.

Depends on what you call better. Hill would be less likely to turn the ball over, a la Orton with the Bills right now. With the defense coming around, it might be a prudent move if the Rams are convinced they still have a playoff shot and if Davis isn't their QB of the future.

It's not like Davis is lighting up the passing game when he isn't turning the ball over.
