Series Thread: St. Louis Cardinals vs LA Dodgers

The only known pitching match-up is Wainwright vs Kershaw in G1 which should be a pitching duel as Wainwright comes off a regular season where he went 20-9 with an era of 2.38 while Kershaw comes into this game after one of the better regular seasons for a starting pitcher in a long time as he went 21-3 with a 1.77 ERA

Dodgers won the season series 4-3 with the last meeting coming on July 20th. To no surprise most of the 7 games were really low scoring as the Cardinals actually failed to score more than 4 runs in any of the 7 games and were shut out in 2 of the 7 games while the Dodgers scored 2 runs or fewer in 4 of the games but did produce a game where they scored 6 runs and another where they scored 9.

I actually think it's a good thing, I'm not sleeping on St Louis but it will be a huge boost to the club's confidence if the Dodgers can take out the team that beat them last year. Not to mention the fact that the Redbirds have had the Dodgers' number for quite some time.

We have homefield, we have Kershaw, it's time this club puts it's money where it's mouth is.

If the Dodgers can win this series I think they win it all - Cardinals are the one team they've had trouble beating

It would have been nice if the fans had been able to see the games this season that don't have access to Time Warner. At this point I think there will be a lot of fans who won't tune in because of that which will result in a loss of potential revenue

The inconsistency of the dodgers for stretches is what makes me cringe at their post season chances. Though as long as they get some runs each game they win, we have the best starters in the NL. I got the dodgers in 4. I just don't think this series will be as close as people think especially if they win game 1.

You'd be hard pressed to find an expert picking the Cardinals. People are calling it close just because they dont want to be wrong but its hard to ignore the difference in offensive potential on both teams. Pitching is mostly a push but the Dodgers have a much more explosive lineup.

I'm hoping Kershaw struggling against the Cards continues to be a thing.
