so here is one thing i don't understand, it's generally harder to make shots from farther away right, even really good three point shooters shoot in the high 30-low 40% range, why would you not just pack it in and ket them shoot 3s all night. even if they shoot at a decent percentage they'll still miss more than they make. once you overcommit on the jump shot it opens the rest of the floor for guys like wade, ,lebron, ginobili, parker leonard, etc.

Because those high 30's -low 40's are on shots that are typically contested in some way!! If you leave an NBA player open, those percentages will go up to more like low 40's - high 40's and that becomes very difficult to beat!!
