Bad bet cost him a bunch of money

I always wondered if that ruined his mentality and adding pressure on himself to perform. If I turned down a bunch of guaranteed money "betting on himself" then start struggling in the majors and not getting over himself to perform better knowing he threw away millions.

And it’s weird that an ownership group who owns their own rights, in the 2nd biggest region in the world for tech can’t broadcast spring games and are supposedly going to lose their butts because of linear television.

Too bad they won't sell the Root Sports as a streaming app that cost $9.99 per month or something like that... I have no idea what their contract w/ Xfinity looks like...

True, no idea what the contract looks like. I’m not even an amateur lawyer but to me it seems to me if basically everything else is streamed Xfinity wouldn’t have much of a legal argument. CBS, Paramount, Peacock and Max all stream live games/tv shows. I don’t even think the Mariners would have to charge $9.99. But they could charge that monthly or be innovative for sports streaming and charge per game (well I guess PPV is a thing)
