I am aware that every university has a glorified scrimmage.

Not once have I ever said that they shouldn't have the glorified scrimmage.

It is kind of hard to gain experience in game management and game situations when you have a running clock.

Not once have I ever said that people should not go to the game.

All I am saying is that it is a pointless event to go to that doesn't mean a damn thing and it isn't real football, IN MY OPINION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The people that go around trying to puff out there chest saying that they are the best fans because they packed their glorified scrimmage are losers, IN MY OPINION!!!!!!!!! And I am not just talking about Nebraska fans when I say that because I have heard many different fans bases say that crap.

The people that come out of the glorified practice ranting and raving about how many stats and how great a player looked are delusional. I can't remember the last glorified scrimmage star that carried it over to the following regular season. The players that get hyped up after the game are the ones that I know I don't have to pay attention to during the season because they won't do anything.

The fact that during the Pederson/Callahan era they put the the glorified scrimmage on the schedule and posted it as a "W" still irritates the hell out of me. Some one in the athletic department needs to go in and take that shit off.

FYI. I was the first person on this thread to call it a scrimmage. I pretty sure every one here knows what it is.

Sure the game clock runs, but the play clock is utilized by both Red and White offenses for critique in play calling, running in plays etc... ie..Game Management.

It is not a pointless event to go to for 10's of thousands of Nebraska fans who like to go down, have a little fun, and enjoy the day. My kids have more fun with all the activities outside the stadium.

Tom Osborne and Bo Pelini have said that recruits are impressed with the support Nebraska gets from it's fans at the scrimmage. There will be recruits at the scrimmage.
I don't know of anybody that's ever "puffed out their chests" because of how many people are at the Red-White game. I think you may be a bit over-dramatic there.

I will comment on how players played in the game whether you like it or not.

Putting a "W" on the outcome of a Red-White game is fucking rediculous. Have you e-mailed the Athletic Dept about it, or are you the kind who just likes to bitch about things to make yourself feel better?

good. now this subject is over!

Look here you paranoid dilusional freak. I am not shady, and neither are the countless other people you've accused of being him here. That fucker must own you as much as you mention him.

I spoke with Bo today and told him you fantasize that he "thinks like" you. He responded that you go outside and check the air in your tires. When you're finished slam your head in the car door four times and let him know what you think.

How are the people who come on here stating that "everyone who looks forward to the spring game is stupid" not puffing their chests out?

WHAT ELSE ARE WE SUPPOSED TO DO IN APRIL?!?!?!?!? it's funish, semi-competitive, and at least we get to see the players in some kind of action.

They have no desire to go, so they badmouth it for others.
I've known people like this through the years, they are generally unhappy with their own lives, therefore it makes them feel better about themselves to down-talk yours.

We had a guy who hung around with a group of us at a bar some years ago. The rest of us all liked to fish and would go on fishing trips to Canada, Minnesota etc. Any time we'd talk about planning a trip or talk about a trip we'd been on he go on a rant about "if he wanted fish he'd go to a resturant or the grocery store and buy it for $10. "Why spend $300 and have to go catch it" Rant Rant Rant. The fact is he didn't like fishing and didn't like that the rest of us had some comradery.
The guy was a full blown alchoholic with very little self esteem and died of cancer 2 years ago.

I can relate to the fishing example as I have fished throughout the entire year of every year of my life. I have people tell me how stupid I am for going ice fishing and all that.

The best example I have though is a friend of mine who doesn't drink alcohol. I have a couple of friends who don't drink, but this kid in particular just rips on anyone who even thinks about drinking. He says the only reason people drink is to make a reason to get together, just like a "big football game that nobody really cares about, but everyone just gets together just to be together." He does however drink 4-5 cans of pop a day.....he will never understand how bad that is for him compared to his friends drinking alcohol casually on the weekends.

Agreed.....

Not much into fishing in April...... Golf is Ok, but I prefer it to be 80 degrees with a cold beer.....

So..... it's an event, it's something to do.. Nothing more.... Nothing Less....

April up in SD is great for the BIG Northerns. They're in the shallow water along the banks. As the water warms up in May the bigger one's go deep. Other than that no, there isn't much else to fishing in April.

Oh my god, I LOVE it!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so glad that we have a certified psychologist on this board for free services. I voice my opinion and displeasure over the hype of the glorified scrimmage and all of a sudden I am diagnosed as having low self esteem, anger issues, and might have an alcohol problem.

Go ahead and talk about what the players do in the glorified scrimmage if you want to. Go ahead and make yourself feel better by claiming that you were the first person to call it a scrimmage as if that is something impressive. Go ahead and talk about how recruits are impressed with the amount of fans that come to Nebraska's glorified practice when there are stadiums across the country that fill their stadium as well as Nebraska does for their glorified practice so it will impress recruits just the same.

While you are doing all of that I will sit in my corner with my fresh anonymous internet message board poster's diagnosis of my state of mind and laugh at your patheticness, obvious desperate nature to be right, and justify your decision to go to a meaningless glorified scrimmage.

Just a word of advise from an angry depressed drunk (even though I don't drink), take that stick out of your ass and quit taking things so seriously.

I don't like the wind off the water hitting me in the face in April........... I don't enjoy ice fishing...

I like bass fishing, and cat fishing................

Mostly because I like the sun, and I like drinking at night by the water..... I fish to drink pretty much.....

When summer rolls around Bass fishing is about all I do....I go for master anglers, and I love the thrill of hooking on to one. I love fishin for Northerns though. This winter my dad and I set up tip-ups but never got anything. Tip-ups and drinking go together like peas and carrots....that is some fun shit. If we find a good place where we can get 10 or more Northern, we will sit there for hours and drink and wait for those flags to pop up.

Cat fishing in the summer at night with a few beers is awesome.

Normally I would say there are valid points on both sides.....not this time though. I am right and anyone who agrees with me is right. If we had all fans who only pay attention to Husker football when the season rolls around, we would have a boring fanbase. The excitement going into the season would be much less, and I think we would just have an average program.....there is actually something special about Nebraska football and it isn't just because of Saturdays. The fans who go overboard with everything in the off-season create that excitement.

I was fishing up by 'Otter Tail' in Minnesota a few years back and we stopped into a bowling alley for a beer and some lunch. We got to talking to a local and he told us about a lake that had trophy walleye in it (Witch Lake or something like that). He said you won't catch many fish but when you do it will be a trophy. We were like fuck that, we want a pile of 2 1/2 to 3 pounders. We fished a place called Little Pine and limited out.

When you catch 'em, you fish for 'em.....I have caught quite a few right here in Nebraska. Besides, in Nebraska we don't play football just to play football.....we play football to win national championships ;)

Wrong jed, your compulsiveness involves negativity. An inability to express a positive thought.
I can come up with reasons not to go..Dealing with traffic, parking, spending $40 on tickets, $30 on gas and $50 on food. I may end up sitting next to some fat fuck who doesn't like Runza's and obsessively bitches about why people would eat such a thing every time someone in the general area buys one (this has happened).
If I chose not to go because of these various reasons and harped on them on a message board as a way to convince a forum it's not worth the time, that would make me ...uhhhh..like you.

I mean must we really seek you and vinnies approval?

I give you the last word.
