4/4/14 Update:

Oline 1st unit:
Staley, Elmar,Martin,Hanratty,McGlinchey

Folston and Cam splitting duties as the #1 RB. Bryant has been the 3rd back. ND will use all 3 RBs

Corey Robinson is the only WR always with the 1st unit. Brown has been the other outside WR and Cj has been the slot guy. Today a little change. Fuller was the outside guy and Carslie was the slot guy.

Ben is the #1 TE. They even use him outside.

Golson is the still the #1 but Zaire is getting a lot of reps.

Defense:
Nothing really changed here.

Russell and Luke have been the starting CBs.

Not much going on. Not much news.

Thanks for all the updates, Purguy. I am glad to see that coach is giving a lot of reps to both qbs. You have to keep them happy and prepared. When the players see that even if they don't get the job they know they got the reps and will be counted on when the time comes. Good lesson for them to learn. Hope this year that if and when we have some easy games that the backup gets some real playing time, not just killing the clock. It's about time they have a good backup and a third string guy too. Be prepared like the boy scouts.

I would love to see our back ups get some reps in a game. When was the last time we had that. 2 years ago. ND should at least have 2 games a year where back ups get in.

Yeah they should have a few blow out wins that allows the back ups to get serious reps.

Update 4/9/14

Well the defense won todays battle. Kelly is impressed with the Defense and how it looks. Offense didn't look great today. Kelly said Defense is 1 step ahead of the offense right now. He is very happy to see what he sees from the Defense.

Russell is looking like a star in the makings.
Max is looking good. He had an Int that would of been a TD if they didn't call the play dead.
Pass rush specialist are Rabasa and Trumbetti
One negative is LB Depth. Joe Schmidt having trouble covering TE's.
New DC VanGorder is doing a great job and it looks like he is putting his players in the right position to succeed. Players are loving him on D.

Ben Koyack Beast this year. He is starting to live up to his 4-5 star status. Big year for him.

I'd be disappointed if he didn't, he had a solid season last year.

I like where our offense appears to be going, provided everyone's healthy. As far as O line goes, I think Hanratty will be swapped out with Lombard if he's healthy in the fall. Lombard will have had the most experience and while Hanratty is serviceable, Lombard's just better, and I think his natural position is guard anyway, McGlinchey has all but locked up the RT spot I've heard.

KeiVarre Russell has always looked good especially for a guy who was recruited as a RB. He hits a ton, just go back and look at what he did to Nelson Agholor at the end of the USC game. Big hit. He has the speed to cover, that's why they gave him the field side. MLB is scary. I like Schmidt's heart and motor, but I am not sure he's a viable starter. I am hoping Grace can come back 100% and Nyles Morgan is as good as advertised.

PS, whywork deserves a bonus for his tag line. Great Milton reference.

JJC2009,
I was just thinking about you, no bull. It's the second time in the last couple of days where I was thinking about someone I haven't heard from in quite awhile and bam there they are. Hope things are going well. Just want to thank you guys for all your updates.

P.S. That was a pretty funny movie wasn't it. I've watched that movie with my family probably two dozens times and I it still cracks me up.

Yes MLB is going to be scary but word is our new DC is putting them in the right position to succeed. We should have another good Oline.

Cant wait for spring game because I want to see the Dline. In these practices they really don't hit so RB's have an advantage when running.

I had to laugh on one of these boards this one Florida State fan was saying we would be weak at runningback. I definitely see that as one of our strengths. If I find it digging around I will maybe copy and paste it here. It was the Florida State poster with the two hots chicks avatar, forget the thread.

Yeah, not quite as active on these boards as I was during the off-season over at CBS. I guess, thankfully, its been a relatively quiet offseason without the drama of last year (knock on wood).

Things are fine (and busy) which is also contributing to the lack of play time on the boards. I hope all is well with you and yours too.

Office Space is one of my all time favorites. Its one of those movies that whenever I come across it flipping channels I'll stop what I am doing to watch.

Anyway, the spring game should give us something to talk about, although I generally think such affairs are overblown. You don't see much by design, they aren't going full speed all the time for safety reasons, and its generally the time to try new things and looks than it is to actually run game simulation. I don't get too worked up when they look amazing or less than great (more often its the latter in the spring games). Such formats favor the defense usually anyway.

Hopefully some of the lingering question marks about MLB will be answered with a healthy Grace and the incoming freshman.

If you look at the makeup of this team, it is looking like 2015 will be the year for ND. The number of key players who are seniors this year is every small. I think this will be a good year, but this will be a young team.

DGB just got kicked off Mizzou football team. Remember when ND came in 2nd to land him. Hey maybe we pick him up and help the kid out. What a talent he is. He just needs some guidance.

Drugs, robbery, assaulting his girlfriend. I don't think we'd be interested.

Nah ND wouldn't touch him but damn he would be a nice addition(football terms). Hey maybe he needs some religion in his life to turn himself around.

It probably couldn't hurt. Hopefully this is a reality check for him and he turns his life around.
