Ok guys we are half way through the season so who is looking good for the heisman?

There are several guys I think look sharp.

Something i find very buzz worthy is Mariota of Oregon.

25 TDs 0 INT That's sharp.

Another one is Seastrunk of Baylor.

9.2 YPC

Those are very eye opening stats. Who you got and who is impressing you?

S Mannion tossing about 450 yrds/per w/ 4-5 TD's a game with NO running game to speak of. Time to watch the best that the PAC has to offer D-wise to try and stop this freak from here on out.

Aint going to happen and you ALL just may be seeing the 2nd best PAC club evolving right now.

I'll be a huge homer and nominate both of our running backs. Yeldon is avg 6.6 ypc with a new offensive line, and Kenyan Drake is the next Reggie Bush.

Marriota and Seastrunk are probably the two front runners with Winston getting an invite to New York.

If 9.2 YPC with West Virginia and Kansas State as your bet opponents impresses you, then what do you think of Melvin Gordon?

The Heisman is clearly a three man race right now between Mariota, Manziel, and Jameis. Bryce Petty, Seastrunk, Gordon, and Bridgewater are lurking in the shadows, but its gonna take the top three screwing up for any of them to have a chance.

If the Heisman were to be awarded today, Mariota would win.

The Heisman committee won't give out to Manziel again.

The Heisman committee won't give out to Manziel again.

The same thing was stated last year and he won by a big margin. Most football experts consider talent as the measuring stick and use their heads instead of their hearts. As I see it, this year has 3 guys who are putting up great numbers: Mariota, Winston, and Manziel. Who is the person most needed by their respective team and one could make a good argument for Manziel.

Mariota and Winston are tied in my Heisman race.

After that a huge drop off.

Seastrunk, McCarron, Mannion, Johnny.

Jameis is unbelievable. What leadership and only a RS Freshman.

Mariota is killing teams. No INTs will go a long ways.

Seastrunk. TOns of yards, 10 yards a carry

McCarron. Doesnt get the opportunity to put up the numbers as some other qbs. I am sure he is just fine with collecting Crystal footballs. Dude has 3 NATTY rings. 2 of which he QB'd the team. 4 would be unprecedented.

Johnny. His team has no defense. It is Johnny to Evans and they are getting it done. Only fallback is 7 INTs and 2 losses. Oh, and the Heisman House voters (ex winners) seem to not want to vote for him because of his antics both on and off the field.

Mannion. Seasn Mannion to Brandon Cooks is the best QB to WR combo going. Mannion, in a historic QB conference is on pace to shatter PAC records. He is pacing for over 5,000 yards and 50 TDs. Fallback is a loss to an fcs team. 45 more seconds in that game Beavs are top 8 in the country.

How many INT's does he need to throw before you stop considering him? 12? 20?

He's got 7 in 6 1/2 games.

Manziel: 18 tds; 7 ints
Winston: 20t ds; 3 ints
Mariota: 19 tds; 0 ints
Bridgewater: 20 tds; 2 ints

Throw in Seastrunk and a couple other dark horses, and its not even close with johnnyhollywood.

2nd best pac-12 team almost as good as an FCS team, and i'm supposed to think that the pac-12 is even in the same realm as the SEC?

The Int's for Manziel are only going to get worse, the effort to make him more of a passer than a runner is pushing these numbers up. When Manziel is not throwing hail mary esque passes (I dunno where this came from I do not remember him doing this last season) he is trying to fit the ball in too small of windows too far down the field. His numbers along with the left over hype from last season will keep him top 5 but he will not go to NY at this rate.

Nobody has the QB who's 19-0 right now, who is a good game manager that makes plays when necessary?

You don't even have him going to NYC?

Still think the lack of 3rd and 4th quarter playing time for Mariota will hurt him in the long run

that was his problem last year. Don't think so this year, think media has realized how great he is and also how good of a person he is off the field. Mariota only 19 years old.

Yeah but he's played almost 2 1/2 games less than the other contenders at this point.

People care about numbers only. They're not seeing that his current numbers are in 4 1/2 games worth of playing time

1. Mariotta
2. Winston
3. Manziel
4. McCarron

If they want to invite a 5th I'd say Jordan Lynch.

Manziel plays for a team that has no defense so the pressure is on him to do more. Now that he is playing hurt, things might go badly for him. I'm Ok with all the names mentioned and believe this year there are more guys who are worthy of the award. After all, it was Teo who was the main competition last year and by the end of the year, Teo was in big trouble. The interceptions are a minus however it could be considered a product of having to do too much for his team. I suspect by the years end, if Manziel is not injured, he will have more passing and running yards than the rest; again, a product of playing on a team with no defense. This is the reason McCarron will not get the nod; he plays on a team that has a bunch of NFL prospects and plays within that system very well. With two great running backs and a team that has no weaknesses, his contribution is making sure the team plays well. IMO, it will be Bridgewater who goes first in the draft.
