That's a stretch to call Spoesltra a fraud and truthfully the op should be banned for trolling the heat like this. I would agree that he might have been over-rated by some fans, but I can't remember anyone saying he was that great, so even that is a stretch.

I got Spo in my top 15 as coaches. So he isn't the worst in the league. He just isn't great and a little over rated for winning 2 championships for doing nothing.

If they don't make the playoffs int he weak East then he sucks.

Spoelstra is fine as a coach. He ain't Pop and he ain't Thibs, but neither is anyone else. Aside from the injuries and having some new faces, it's also about adjusting to Lebron not being there and it's not just Spo that has to adjust to it. The players do as well.

You don't just lose the best player in the game and not suffer some kind of growing pains.

I have no problem with the term fraud since sop is being heralded as a top coach when he is a middle of the pack coach.

Who said sop was special when lebron signed?? Pat Riley.

I think that Spo will end up being a bit like Pat Riley in that it will be years before he will start to get the credit he deserves as a coach. The reason is because, like Riley, he was some guy with no real coaching resume who suddenly found himself tabbed as head coach. He got his 1st couple of Heat teams to overachieve, but no one was really paying attention. Then, when Lebron and Bosh were dropped in his lap, it pretty much ensured that he would receive little to no credit for his coaching ability.

A lot of folks don't remember that Riley didn't really get credit for being a great coach until he went to New York and Miami and turned those teams into contenders while using a completely different style of play from his Lakers teams. When that happened, he not only got credit for being a great coach, but he started getting some "retroactive credit" for the Showtime Lakers as well.

You're trying to act like it's all or nothing. Spo is an above average coach, his Heat teams prior to Lebron/Bosh show that. He just isn't Thibs or Pop.

You're issue is you compare everyone to thibs and if they're not on the same level as thibs you don't think they're a good coach.

Another thing is even though they didn't have rose, they still had noah, gibson, boozer, butler, & deng.

All of those players are better than anything the heat had excluding wade in spo first 2 yrs. The heat 2nd best player in those 2 yrs were Michael Beasley....seriously dude.

He is a fine coach and in the one year where the bulls were completely healthy, he outcoached thibs and gave him the reverse sweep. Bulls won by 20 something in game 1, spoles made the necessary adjustments and the bulls did not win a game again.

Say what you want about spoles but the man has made key adjustments to his team in several playoffs series where they were down.

I been saying this for years that he was over rated and we are seeing he isn't that great of a coach. He doesn't have LBJ anymore to hide his coaching. Heat still have a solid team but stand at 11-13 and now have some injuries and it looks like they wont make the playoffs.

I don't think he is a bad coach but I also don't think he is a good coach. I have watched a couple of games and this team some times looks lost.

Purguy is one of those guys who like to kick others when they're down. He criticizes spo when the team is playing poorly and he criticizes napier soon as he got sent to the d league for one day. When napier were scoring double digits in 6 or 7 straight games off the bench he was nowhere to be found.

On top of that they been dealing with their big 2 being out. When Bosh comes back they'll look much better. I posted this on another thread but the last time we played a home game with both Wade & Bosh in the lineup was November 12th. It has been over a month since their top 2 played together at home.
