Yeah, that was fun...like drinking an entire pitcher of grape Kool-aid when you were a kid...but then you get sick.

The Flyers got away with slow, sloppy starts and won...and kept getting away with slow sloppy starts.

Now facing better teams they are still playing sloppy hockey. Still starting out flat. Still not back checking. The D is having to do too much and being exposed more and more as a result.

Yes, Mez had a nice streak offensively, but not in his own zone. Grossmann has looked slow, slower and slowest...as has Kimmo. Streit...ugh....

This team is not nearly as good as it was looking when getting away with murder. They should not be as bad as they are...the forwards have the skill (maybe not the speed) to be more effective...but they don't back check, they don't compete on the forecheck (this is as a group, there are individuals and there have been periods when this is not always true) but as a regular practice this team simply does not compete and as was stated by many (me included) was not built with complimentary skills but just a mish mash of players.

Just going to be a long season.

And at the end of the day it starts with the head coach and the head coach is not cut out to be a head coach in the NHL, especially with the Flyers

I think that Berube is not that bad of a coach, I just don't think this team was put together well as a group. That is the GM's fault.

The GM sucks! The coach is behind the eight ball, but has to start disciplining that mess of a team. The entire defense is garbage and/or too old. If they don't hold the players feet to the fire and get them to quit figure skating out there and start playing fucking Flyers hockey, the season is over!!!

We do way to much standing and watching when the other team has the puck leaving them to much time to make a nice pass or get a good shot. If we move our dam feet towards the puck handler we have much more success. The Boston game was the epitome of standing and watching the other team do what they want with the puck. Move your feet and hustle after every puck and we are a solid playoff team.

Coach Craig Berube switched up his lines in practice on Sunday and Vincent Lecavalier found himself with Brayden Schenn and Wayne Simmonds.

It looks to be a good second line for the Flyers as Berube also had Michael Raffl with Claude Giroux and Jakub Voracek while Steve Downie saw time alongside Sean Couturier and Matt Read. The Flyers are slumping again as they have lost their last three games so hopefully the juggling of the lines will help.

They need to go back to these lines - this is what has made them successful - I want that third line to be a terror again

Why has it taken so long to put Downie Couts and Read back together is a huge mystery to me.

All of this could be moot if Hartnell plays.

Or they throw Hartnell on the 4th line...it's not like he is producing in the top 6.

hartnell has been more of hinderance than anything at 5 on 5.. points be damned, he turns the puck over like no other.. how many times do pucks go in to his feet only to end up on the other team's stick? and he cant win a board battle to save his life. he's been benifiting from schenn and simmonds playing extremely well, and as was said, the PP clicking

hartnell is a PP specialist, 4th liner, IMO. i would much rather see raffl stay with the top line and hartsy on teh 4th.

Hartnell has the 2nd highest 5 on 5 Corsi rating on the team.
