Brassard and Huselius might be a bit high a price, but the idea of Spezza - Nash - Vermette / Voracek makes me positively giddy.

This is a fucking joke. How many stars have to be run out of town and how many times are we going to piss away talented players? I'll stop ranting now but I think you can sense my anger.

Murray should be fucking fired on the spot as far as I'm concerned. Brassard won't replace Spezza, he's a damn good player but he's no Spezza.

Huselius? He's another Kovalev who only plays well when he feels like it. That 4th overall pick will get us Fowler maybe but we don't need any more defensemen, we need young forwards.

That's a pretty solid return and about all you could really expect and then some.

Still doesn't make it a good move. In fact, I'd say it's a horrible decision by Murray if this is true.

Fits perfectly into Murray's Ark, doesn't it?

He got a young guy with gobs of potential who may never realize it due to being injury prone (Brassard = Leclaire). And he got an enigmatic guy with great hands and vision but a lot of laziness who is hard to make care (Huselius = Kovalev). The pick? eh. Crapshoot.

If true, what Howson did was clear space and get a star center for his star winger, and one who already has played with Nash. Might he take a run at Volchenkov too?

Ottawa is definitely in a rebuilding period if this actually happens.

Spezza would be gone, Alfie is retiring in a few years and Kovalev is done after this season.

That makes sense then. I wouldn't be surprised to see Nash put up 50-60 with Spezza centering his line. Good move for Jackets.

i heard a rumor earlier today about carter going to the blue jackets. i do not think it makes sense because the flyers need a goalie although it seems clear the blue jackets will try to get their top center.
