Boy have you lost yo goddamned mind?!?I'm also almost ready to remove Keuchel completely from the rotation altogether and replace him with Lopez. Not quite ready, but getting there.

8 intangible RBIs will do that to a person!Boy have you lost yo goddamned mind?!?
fact is, it's just possible he's just getting old. he no longer has pinpoint control and that's death to his kind of pitching.I kinda am, but the main reason is to take Keuchel out of the pressure of starting. He seems to have lost all confidence. Give him a few outings in the pen, see how he handles it. He can always be thrown back in the rotation if/when he gets his act together.
I still say it’s his fault for not having a 90 inch vertical in the first inning.8 intangible RBIs will do that to a person!
You still think he belongs in the rotation?Boy have you lost yo goddamned mind?!?
These games don’t matter so I’ll place my bet on Keuchel figuring it out moreso than Lopez. If he doesn’t then he’s out of the playoff rotation. You still think he belongs in the rotation?
So let him figure it out while pitching out of the pen. You're talking about a guy who has gotten continuously worse, then at home can't make it thru the 2nd inning while pitching to a bunch of AAA batters. Meanwhile the one you say can't figure it out as well just threw 5 scoreless innings, had 7 Ks, no BB, with 40 of his 59 pitches as strikes. Yeah, some figuring he needs to do.These games don’t matter so I’ll place my bet on Keuchel figuring it out moreso than Lopez. If he doesn’t then he’s out of the playoff rotation.
To rephrase: Would you consider starting Lopez in a playoff game over any other of Lynn/Rodon/Giolito/Cease? I wouldn’t. But “right” Keuchel I would…thus better to give him a chance to figure it out than waste time on Lopez. You still think he belongs in the rotation?
The dude will garbage out when the pressure is on. He has zero pressure right now. He is exactly the kind of pitcher a winning team does not want.So let him figure it out while pitching out of the pen. No and please point out where I said I wanted Lopez to start in a playoff game. But yes, I am now completely, 100% for Keuchel not starting in the playoffs. The only way I want him out there is if he PROVES he belongs back in the rotation. Right now, he's just plain garbage. To rephrase: Would you consider starting Lopez in a playoff game over any other of Lynn/Rodon/Giolito/Cease? I wouldn’t. I’m with you. If he continues we can’t start him in a playoff game. F that.No and please point out where I said I wanted Lopez to start in a playoff game. Sooooooooo, Keuchel, with that same zero pressure, garbages out. But that's ok. Got it.The dude will garbage out when the pressure is on. He has zero pressure right now. He is exactly the kind of pitcher a winning team does not want.
Keuchel has a much longer history of success to bank on than Lopez and that’s not even a question.Sooooooooo, Keuchel, with that same zero pressure, garbages out. But that's ok. Got it.
No argument there. But past performance has diddly squat on what have you done for us lately.Keuchel has a much longer history of success to bank on than Lopez and that’s not even a question.
Wow that takes me back...
Fact is... he's had this happen multiple times in his career and always bounces back. He didn't get old overnight. He's leaving his pitches up and when he does that - he gets hammered. Always has.fact is, it's just possible he's just getting old. he no longer has pinpoint control and that's death to his kind of pitching.
some pitchers remain effective into their 40's and some start downhill in their early 30's and you never know which ones will. kimbrel may also be one of these. right now i have little confidence in keuchel. he probably still has some good days in him but it may only be 1 out of 3 games.
