Series Thread: Sox vs Cubs

Tonite's contest is on the MLB Network. Here are the matchups for the three games:

Keuchel vs Thompson
Lynn vs Mills
Cease vs Hendricks

While all three are winnable games, at first glance the toughest matchup appears be Cease vs Hendricks. Looks like the Cubs are going with an opener of sorts for tonite's game. Only two of Thompson's appearances to date have been as a starter. I guess we can't technically refer to him as an opener tho. Anyway, it would be in Keuchel's best interest to bring his 'A' game. Cease is riding his ass for the 4th spot in the rotation.

I expect all three games to be very close to sell outs, if not completely sold out.

on the bright side, lopez pitched awfully well tonight.

It’s common for closers to not pitch as well in non-save situations- maybe that’s the case with Kimbrel.

I'm not there yet...

I kinda am, but the main reason is to take Keuchel out of the pressure of starting. He seems to have lost all confidence. Give him a few outings in the pen, see how he handles it. He can always be thrown back in the rotation if/when he gets his act together.
