List of players who would sign a contract with a drug clause in it:

Is that even allowed in the MLBPA agreement?

personally..for the health of the sport in general, I'm rooting for the yanks to get it torn the fuck up...the guaranteed at all cost nature of MLB contracts needs to go....

You know this is the Pandoras Box problem

Everyone around baseball, to a man, as much as they hate the Yankees, probably know the Yankees are getting fucked here

But once a court or baseball itself, opens up that "voiding" possibility, that's the beginning of a huge shit storm

Yeah, but in reality the union will flip the fuck out. Things have gotten so fucking out of hand and it seems like A-rod was in the middle of most of it.

I just don't see how getting "banned" but you still collect your paycheck is a punishment

Why don't you start paying the guys who get suspended too?

No different than getting fired from your job "but hey, we'll deposit that check for ya every 2 weeks"

Nope...it would be the beginning of he healthiest and most competitive era in MLB history...

players should have to be concerned with producing once they've cashed in...I prefer the NFL system with guaranteed and non-guaranteed portions...

Why not in baseball? They kind of do it with performance clauses...but baseball would be served better with shorter contracts for more money per year in guaranteed and non-guaranteed performance based portions...

Could you get me the list of contracts with steroid clauses?

Yeah, only the Yankees don't "protect themselves", as if they declined that option

A team has no way to protect themselves contractually from having to pay the guy if he's just been dealt the baseball death penalty?

This is not the same union we grew up with....

15 years ago, had you told me the players union would allow blood testing, in the middle of a CBA, and demand no concessions? I'd have said you're out of your fucking mind...

They're significantly weaker today than they once were...

probably not considering the steroid policy is MLB and player ratified in the CBA...you can't supercede the CBA...

Oh Dude, I agree

But how many teams will be looking to escape bad contracts if Arods was voided?

It would actually be pretty funny

The Angels will be hoping some of their own players fail just to get out from under those deals

Teams would be tainting samples so their guys fail. Lol

Not that I know of at all

Forget the Yankees

I guarantee you the Angela were not allowed to put a "falls off the wagon" clause in Hamiltons deal

You don't think they would love to?

Fucking Union man

I was trying to search through the CBA

There's gotta be something in there that says they can't put drug clauses or whatever in contracts, but every contract has a "moral" clause
