Guarantee they stick with Mazara and Renteria. We were ahead of schedule so it takes some sting out however the way it went down is beyond frustrating. We need a starting pitcher, a RF and a manager

A starting pitcher (Bauer or bust), is far and away our biggest need. I'm kinda with CSF, I think they may see what's out there for a RF, hopefully a left handed bat - Joc Pederson comes to mind. But I'm not betting the farm on it, and it wouldn't surprise me in the least if they stick with Mazara. And I fully agree they're not going to can Renteria.Guarantee they stick with Mazara and Renteria.
Yeah but it sucks less when your teams win rings along the way...Always remember fellas, life sucks, then you die.
Ok, let's not get technical here.Yeah but it sucks less when your teams win rings along the way...
there is no defending the awful gm plan ricky had today. none. i’m not saying they would of won with another but the decision to pull your starter after 2 hits (only 1 hit hard)in the first inning is unexplainable. any game plan where you need 8+ pitchers to be sharp in their first postseason is an awful planRemember, the playoffs in baseball are almost completely random. You can't take anything from a 3 game series and diagnose the team. Especially in this weird* season*
This was year 1 of the window. They got a little taste of the playoffs, they are young, they will add a starting pitcher. I'm pretty jazzed for the next few years to watch them compete.
After every playoff loss fans blame the manager. It's pretty random, managers don't matter a whole lot (as we discussed before re Ozzie, Yost, etc)

Agreed. Renteria just destroyed any confidence Dunning had - by getting a reliever up after the first hit in the 1st inning. He just really mismanaged the pitching staff terribly in this game, but he will be back.there is no defending the awful gm plan ricky had today. none. i’m not saying they would of won with another but the decision to pull your starter after 2 hits (only 1 hit hard)in the first inning is unexplainable. any game plan where you need 8+ pitchers to be sharp in their first postseason is an awful plan
this is what bugs me. yes, he fucked up terribly yesterday. yes, he's made poor decisions all year. yes, he was replaced on another talented team because of his poor managerialship but yes, he'll no doubt be back. that's just GREAT!Agreed. your delusions of grandeur amuse me.It gets worse. When we go full on juggernaut for the next 3 seasons and win 3 pieces of hardware despite him...He'll be a White Sox legend and I'll post things like "3 Time World Champion and Iddy's favorite manager" for the rest of time.
Thanks Idee - a good dose of sarcasm will get me through another day. We just have to build a team - anyone could manage and remember if not Renteria - it could be Bevington.this is what bugs me. yes, he fucked up terribly yesterday. yes, he's made poor decisions all year. yes, he was replaced on another talented team because of his poor managerialship but yes, he'll no doubt be back. that's just GREAT!
or (shudder) ventura! Thanks Idee - a good dose of sarcasm will get me through another day. We just have to build a team - anyone could manage and remember if not Renteria - it could be Bevington.
Or, we could dig up Al Lopez and stick his brain into Renteria and hope nobody notices the forehead stitches.or (shudder) ventura!
Dayum, the 'Stros did a number on the A's. Could we have fared better? Obviously we'll never know, but I have to say Houston still has some big time talent. We definitely would've had our work cut out for us.
