If we lose, Jerry better open up that f*cking pocket book WIDE for a bona fide starter without hesitation. Yeah we might survive the fairly yeoman offense of Oakland with subpar starting pitching, but this is ridiculous that we're struggling for a 3 man playoff rotation. Next year the expectations/stakes will be higher so we need to have the personnel in place.

A little nervous about Stroman, being he sat out this year, altho he did rebound fairly well in '19 from his injuries in '18. He's a couple of years younger than Bauer and would undoubtedly come at a considerably lower price. He's Bauer Lite. All things considered, I'd be very much in favor of going balls out for Bauer.

You and I both know that Dunning gets yanked early (inning 2-3) and then 2 innings of Cordero...We should be able to figure out the other 4-5 innings.

Pitching wont matter unless the offense hits better. First 7 innings yesterday was terrible. For the love of god please take the bat out of the hands of Robert for the first pitch.

If Cordero pitches today, then the game has either gotten out of hand or it has gone something like 15 innings. He threw too many yesterday to be considered a candidate for today's game, especially with all the arms we have lined up. I say there's zero chance of him pitching.

Well technically you're right. Aside from Giolito and Keuchel, everyone else should be and will be available. But Cordero threw 35 pitches yesterday. For a spot reliever, that's like a starter throwing 125 pitches. Cheekinees aside, I'll say it again that if Cordero takes the mound today, something really wacky has taken place, and likely not good.

I spotted one article that showed him not in the lineup - not sure if it was official, but I'm beginning to have my doubts that he'll be out there today except for possible PH duties.

Fiers' nickname is Smokey - I've been on enough sports teams to take great satisfaction in good teammate's nicknames.

He looks mediocre in era - age 35 - maybe has some vet wiles in him.
