What Me Worry?
Adding another team's reject won't help the problem. And picking up another QB for the sole purpose of getting his ass beat around because you didn't address the primary issue is essentially putting lipstick on a pig.

More difference than Fitzgerald would.Enough to make a difference?
I think we need an OT, not a Guard at this point. I'm not sure if he has played Tackle in the past or notQuinton Spain would help

I don't get why we would consider adding Fitzpatrick. First off we would have to trade something for him and then pay him and that would be a mistake IMO even if there were no other issues. Second I don't see how he is really better than Dalton. The biggest problem I have with Dalton is his mobility behind this horrible OL and Fitz is not an upgrade in that respect. Dalton isn't Dak, but he is OK. Even if you think Fitzpatrick is better than Dalton does that really matter? We aren't going anywhere this year and Dak will be back next year. Plus, Fitz makes $8M this year.I disagree.
I agree T is needed more than G, ut the OL has been ripped apart by injuries, and Martin could easily move to T.I think we need an OT, not a Guard at this point. I'm not sure if he has played Tackle in the past or not
I thought McGovern was surprisingly good as an emergency backup this week, Martin will be back before Spain can play and Looney will be back soon which gives us some flex at Guard. The team doesn't seem interested in moving Martin or Williams to OT so unless they change their mind on that I would be surprised if we brought him in.
THIS... is a major concern. All we heard going into the season was how Fassel was a ST guru and that this might be the most improved part of the team. An argument can be made - they are actually worse than last year. And they were awful last year.

Completely unprepared for at least half their games this year.
Nolan a waste of oxygen as well.
Elliott in zombie land.
very true, but.......Defense isn't the only issue.
like I said in another thread.. I love this guy in the locker room. & more than willing to keep him around until he becomes our LB coach. he is important to this team even when he isnt on the field. (& I dont really say that about a lot of players)Such a shame this guys body let him down
I disagree. Dalton is afraid to pull the trigger. Then holds the ball, which isnt good for a shitty line & an immobile QB. We were spoiled with Dak. He is a great tight window thrower & isnt afraid. Which is why Fitzmagic would be a better back up QB for us. He will throw more INTs which is true, but since Tampa he has always moved the offense. With all of our Back up QBs we are a punting offense. Just as a choice between the two. I would take Fitz all day every day over Dalton as our backup. Also a side note. Fitz is an excellent locker room character guy. He gets players to try hard for him. Which we need in our offensive side while Dak is laid up.More difference than Fitzgerald would.
but here is why it wont happen. Jarntt points out some of what I would have.I don't get why we would consider adding Fitzpatrick. I don’t see Fitzgerald helping anymore than Dalton, but if he does, it's minimal at best, and it takes either a player or with this roster most likely a draft pick, and more money from next years cap.I disagree. We already invested in a vet backup (Dalton) this season. They will let him play until there is no chance to make playoffs, in which case. There is no reason to trade for another Vet backup. Either Dalton finishes the year or at some point we see how the young guy can play later in the season. So as much as I would have preferred Fitz over Dalton. It will never happen.
Now if next year Dalton moves on & we could get Fitz to be our Backup next year. I am all for it.
well you are right it wont matter. We will still lose games with this defense regardless.I don’t see Fitzgerald helping anymore than Dalton, but if he does, it's minimal at best, and it takes either a player or with this roster most likely a draft pick, and more money from next years cap.
