you do understand. I was never a fan of this trade. Right? It’s all about what you give up In trades. For a 4th round pick you should expect him to be a decent #3 at worst, not hope he becomes that And for what is very likely an early 4th round pick you can make the case being a decent #3 isn’t enough Because there is a good chance that pick is around player #110 in the draft.
the other point is why now? Are we going to have playoff success this year now if we just added a “decent #3”? Football is about SBs, not one and dones. That 4th round pick could most certainly be used in the off-season for a good player. I’d have been unloading bad contracts at the trade deadline, not trading for marginal guys. we should have added a couple draft picks, not given one up. It’s just the incompetence of this front office that seems to be th only consistent factor.
If you read the thread this is more of my glass half full, trying to look at a bad situation.
Literally the only good things I know right now. He is supposed to be a speedster & he is on a rookie contract. That is it.
Your "at worst" is what I hope is my "at least" becomes a decent #3. Which would mean he might have the possibility to eventually become a #2. I dont have my head in the clouds that he will magically become some stud WR.
More than likely he ends up cut after his rookie contract is up.
Now I could just sit here & bash what has already been done, but that has already been said several times over. Or I can hope for a realistic reachable outcome if stars align.
Trade already happened. Cant change that. If he becomes a decent #3. "At least" he would be useful. I am not gonna root against that.
I hated the TO trade, but once he was a Cowboy I still rooted for him to do well.
I dont want to say Mingo was a bad trade so I should root for his failure so I can say I was right. I would love to be wrong.
