That shows how bad our FO is. Jerry screwing a deal he really wanted is our best deal in a year

HOW BOUT SOMETHING GOOD?

The Dallas Cowboys have a number of question marks on their roster, but one area there is no reason for concern is in the trenches.

Dallas has future Hall of Famer Zack Martin and former first-round pick Tyler Smith, who has blossomed into one of the best at his position, as starting offensive guards. The Martin and Smith duo has been so impressive, in fact, that Pro Football Focus ranks them as the top offensive guard duo in the NFL.

Per Gordon McGuinness of Pro Football Focus, the Cowboys have the best duos at edge rusher and offensive guard.

EDGE DEFENDER: Micah Parsons and DeMarcus Lawrence, Dallas Cowboys
Competition is fierce here. One could make a strong case for either Myles Garrett and Za’Darius Smith of the Cleveland Browns, or T.J. Watt and Alex Highsmith of the Pittsburgh Steelers to be in the top spot.
Parsons earned a 93.7 PFF pass-rushing grade in 2023, racking up 106 quarterback pressures from 532 pass-blocking snaps. Opposite him, Lawrence posted a 79.3 PFF pass-rushing grade and was a phenomenal run defender, trailing only Maxx Crosby in PFF run-defense grade (92.2).

Feel reasonably confident this amounts to shit stirring to grabclicks…

Also feel certain I wouldn’t doubt it one bit.

Nevertheless…

If true it makes me like McCarthy more. I can’t imagine a coach not getting fed up with “coach” Jerry and his crap

Lot of drama this off-season. This season we find out a lot about this team. They got a chance to make noise if they fix the running game issues on both sides of the ball. We need these rookies to come out balling out of the gate. The more I look at the draft the more I like it for this season and the future. The FO added the types of players they needed to win in the post season.

I think we had a really good draft. We are also getting back Diggs and a couple of potential star prospects in Overshown and Stephens Jr. That said, we have some question marks, that if they were the position for another team, most of us would consider anywhere from a risk to a joke.
If the Eagles were rolling into the season with Zeke as their starting RB, Mazi Smith as their starting DT, and a rookie replacing Lane Johnson(instead of Tyron), I would say man they have some holes

Micah to me is a lot like Romo in this respect (read carefully I'm not saying they are the same in every way and read twice if you have to) but it's now happening in a social media world. Romo just seemed like a guy that couldn't sit still. He was always doing something. Going to a sporting event (yes Cabo too but Witten was right next to him), playing golf or basketball constantly and people criticized him for it even though he spent more time than anyone thinking about and prepping for games and wanted to win more than anyone. And because he was the face of the franchise a camera always caught him no matter where he was. It's like if a guy spends his off hours sitting home playing video games or just doing nothing on the couch it's ok, but if a guy is out doing something it isn't ok. The perception is clearly an issue, but I don't think the desire or commitment is. On the negative side, they are also alike in that Romo loved him some Romo and Micah loves him some Micah. With Micah I just wish he would STFU a little more often and be more careful with his choice of words. We don't need your opinion on everything. I don't like that he has a podcast but he seems like a guy who is out there every day doing what he needs to do to get better. Perhaps I'm off base on this one I guess. I just don't think there is a better defensive player in the NFL and you take the bad with the good and if this team thinks moving on from him is the answer it would just solidify their incompetence. You spend your whole career going to get a Micah. You do not let him go.

Hooker is a vet. Right or not, he went on a podcast to knock Micah about his podcast lol. Maybe handle that man to man IMO

this team has not accomplished anything other than promoting their individual brands. It starts with ownership and runs throughout the hallways at the Star. It's really the story for 25 years now. I'm down pretty much every time with commitment to team over individual, and sure don't think that is an old school statement.

We have stars on this team for sure. But we have no Tom Brady types. By that I mean, put team first. Tom took less money for his team to be successful. (He maybe the most successful player ever BTW.) NFL is a shit ton more than a product on the field Sundays. It is about managing scouts, front office, coaches etc. Salary cap is a big thing to manage. Takes both sides. Players do not understand this the way Tom did.

Fuck. Seems all I talk about anymore when discussing my Cowboys to anyone, it is about money and not play on the field. It grates on my soul.
