I have one foot already off the elliot train.

The contract negotiation put a bad taste and he hasn't done much to make that go away.

I love Pollard but he still is no zeke.
There’s already “some chatter” about cutting Zeke after ‘21 from the talking heads up here.

As much as I have defended him, I hope he gets it turned around. But as POed as I am in this team I am of the mind to gut most everything and can't make rational thoughts about moving forward with that mindsets

The arguments around running behind this OL aside, bottom line is cutting both him and Cooper after ‘21 frees up around $20M in cap space. Hard to ignore that.

Could be wrong but I've always considered Cooper's deal a two year deal.
I also don't think Jerry ever admits defeat when it comes to Elliott. Hell.....his stance on Jaylon kinda shows that

Yes, just cut more talent. Are you serious?

I think from a cap perspective, the first chance to move on from Zeke if he is still somewhat healthy and playing well is after 22. His 2022 salary guarantees the 5th day of the 2021 league year, so his current $10.8M dead cap hit showing after 2021 jumps to over $23M before the 2021 league year begins.

I would never have paid Zeke when we did and said so over and over again, but we can't change that now and I still think Zeke is a good player so I'm happy to have him a few more years even if he is getting a little more than I'd like, but I think what all of the "experts" are now finding out is what many Cowboy fans have said all along: Dak is our most valuable player as well as our most important Offensive player and it's Dak and a top OL that allows Zeke to excel more so than the reverse :2cents:

Just Cutting Cooper after 2021 (assuming post 6/1) saves us $20M in 2022, $18M in 2023 and $22M in 2024. Cutting Zeke just adds to that if we were to do it.

This is a good reason why the Cowboys haven't been relevant in over 25 years.
Jaylon just not earning that contract.. it was not necessary to give him that deal after one good season.

Part of the issue is Zeke although young is not as fast as he was back in 2016. But yeah that 2016 OL was dominant

I have always been the type to want high draft picks rather than several years of 5-8 wins. So I prefer a top 5 pick and no lower than 3. There are several QBs in this draft and a trade down could happen , but if that happens I dont drop past 7 or 8. We got to address the secondary. We need a to burn high picks on a corner and safety. I prefer Surtain or Farley with the 1st round pick and andre Cisco is a major ballhawk. A lineup of Surtain or Farley, Diggs, Cisco and Wilson would give QBS headaches

As long as Jerry owns this team don't expect us to ever sniff another Super Bowl.

The good news is that even with the current cap structure the line is fixable. Only big concern from where I sit is LG & LT. I would personally move Martin to LT and fix the guard position as a whole but that’s doable regardless.

Seriously , not trying to be a dick , but what more could we have done. This roster on paper looked as good as it had in 25 years. We let Jones walk , that was a mistake. CB to me is a prime position and when you get a good one , you do what it takes to keep him. We all thought our draft was outstanding. We added DLine help all over. Now they didn’t pan out but it looked good.

The sad part it seems like Steele has started every game at RT and it has been ugly. You cant tell me they could not have found somebody better off someone elses practice squad. A lot of Daks turnovers early in the season happened after Steele got beat.. it like they want to lose.

Are you still holding out hope for this season? I've given up on this team.

I am looking forward to the draft. I will still watch them mainly to see who will be coming back. This would be the time to put players like Anae and Robinson in games and let them audition for a future role. Players like Thompson and Armstrong need to be benched. They auditioned and they just are not good at football. Also curious to see if the defense continues to get better. ,or implodes. I think it is a mistake to go to a 3-4

Good defense is good defense regardless if you play 3-4 or 4-3. It has more to do with talent and not scheme.

except you need the talent for the scheme.
You cant just convert 4-3 personnel to play a 3-4 & expect good things.
