"For the second time in the last 31 years, the city of Atlanta stood by and watched as a group of syrup-breathed Canucks snuck across the border to steal an NHL team right from under our feet."

To be fair to Atlantans, it's much easier to have something stolen from under your feet on ice because of the reduced friction.

But as much as I'd like to blame the loss of another Atlanta NHL franchise on league commissioner Gary Bettman's lack of action...

Ironic that they would like to blame Gary for not trying harder to keep the team there while they are moving to Winnipeg where the midgit did absolutely nothing to stop the Jets from moving...

I don't think you quoted fairly there, since the rest of the quote is:

...or the city's inability to step up financially a la the Glendale City Council, who put up $25 million to keep the Phoenix Coyotes in the desert, I simply cannot—this one's on us.

I saw that, I wasn't trying to make them out as the bad guys. I guess I should habe included more of the original quote.

I just thought it was funny that they mentioned how little Bettman did to save thier team when that was the same situation in Winnipeg all those years ago.

Follow up question. Where do the Coyotes move now?

Jermaine Franklin (TSN) to Dion Phaneuf on the day he was traded: Dion, where do you go now?

Dion Phaneuf: Toronto

LOL.

I still think it might be smart for the NHL to be the first pro sport in VEGAS!

That or Winnipeg gets greedy and gets a second team.

I think Toronto's actually where the NHL should consider sending the Coyotes.

Toronto can definitely handle a second team, and if you have them play at the ACC, MLSE will probably be fine with having a second team so close since they'll make a fortune off the arena lease, concessions, etc.

As Boss so eloquently posted some time ago, fans in Toronto only have to drive a little over an hour to see a NHL team (lol)

Can you imagine how many Eastern conference fans would plan road trips to Vegas when their team played there every other year? I wouldn't be surprised for 2,000-5,000 fans of the away team to show up for games on a consistent basis.

Exactly!!

Also, Kings & Ducks fans have a 4-5 hour drive to get to Vegas.
