One B1G contract with a New Year's Day Bowl is essentially going to be allowed to expire and the replacement will be the ACC/ND. This is all but a done deal.

Another one is looking more and more likely to follow.

This is from a pretty good source.

Nice. The B1G has way too many New Years Day slots as it is.

Good to hear. Having the Gator, Citrus, and Cap 1 bowls all on the same day with the same conference match up was always dumb to me.

I wonder if the ACC will go after another non-football school from the Big East to put the the rest of their sports at 16 schools. If that happens, I bet Louisville, Cincinnati, UCONN, and Rutgers will want out too.

With the way the deal w/ ND is set up, there is no need to go to 16 teams for the time being. Out of the 4 from the Big Least you mentioned, the only one that has a remote chance of getting an invite from the ACC is UCONN.

I'm hoping for Tampa, but fearing Jax. We're already repped in Orlando.

Not fallout from this. I read an article a few months ago about one bowl the B1G was letting expire. Just don't remember where I saw it.

The B1G 10 has a very favorable NYD bowl line-up. When I was growing up playing on NYD was what made you elite but I don't think that matters as much anymore. They've got shit-bowls all the way out to Jan 6th now. :L

It used to be if your bowl wasn't on Jan 1 you were just an also-ran.

The B1G is tired of traveling to Florida for bowl games and getting smacked around by the SEC. I heard months ago that they are trying to get a tie-in with the Pinstripe Bowl in NYC....likely against a Big East team. The B1G also wants to get another game against a Pac-12 softie in California.

I imagine the Belk Bowl (Charlotte) will drop the BigEast next year. Maybe they'll pick up the B1G to face ACC. Get the B1G out of Florida and closer to the mid-west.

An NYC bowl would be cool and so would one in the Bay Area or Texas.

Bowl Ties ins was always Dumb to Me. Only the Conference Champ should have a Bowl Tie In IMO.

Historically we actually fair better in our SEC bowl matchups than any of the others.

I've always thought that Honolulu should try to bring in some bigger bowls. I guess that kind of travel might actually be too expensive in the end, but ah well. Some kind of Pac 12 tie in would be good for the Samoan communities I think. Maybe like a Pac 12 #2 or #3 vs Big East West Division champ or runner up. Lots of samoan names on the old WAC and MW rosters if I remember right, and travel wouldn't be quite as rough for the west coasters.

Hearing that the B1G is fixing to tell ND 'fuck you' in regards to Michigan, Michigan St and Purdue being on any future ND schedules.

I feel like we should have done that a long time ago, but I don't know if the Michigan alum would go for that. It really depends on them at this point. The Purdue and MSU folks won't put up too big a fight, but the Michigan crowd could make some noise in Delaney's office.

Notre Dame will have no problem finding opponents should the B1G tell them to pound sand. Texas has been chomping @ the bit to play them.

I agree, but I don't think the B1G will have trouble finding opponents either. I think it's time we all sought out some fresh rivalries.

Neither ND or the B1G will have trouble scheduling other teams. It would absolutely make me happy if the B1G, Big East and the SEC all said fuck you to ND. Join a conference or GTFO bitches, thats just my opinion.
