I've said it several times leading up to the SB, no one is stopping Peyton this year....It's about the way he wants to be remembered, and with a team of talent around him, it's gonna happen....He will lift the Lombardi once more before he signs off as one of the greatest to ever play the game, with no asterisks or scandals attached to his name.....The way it should be, Gitty Up Orange Crush, PM is coming down home stretch....
Hawks will not be able to keep up with the scoring power of the PM Broncos, plain and simple.... :bolt:

hard to expect anything other than a tight low scoring game...field conditions and weather should be a huge factor as well. like the hawks in a tight one

Dang sorry to hear you say that, you've been behind the Seahawks thru the playoffs to this point, only to ditch us in the big dance? With a handle like Oldschool I figured you appreciated the old school approach the Seahawks have...Tough D and a great run game, along with a good QB who doesn't make to many mistakes..

Oh really? The stadium was filled with fans from the team that was less than 300 miles away from home as opposed to the team that was 2400 miles away? You don't say...
Couple that with the whole Jerome Bettis story of course it was essentially a road game for Seattle.

I picked both these teams for the SB....No diss to the Hawks, just calling it like I think it will shake out....
I do like the tough D and the Beast mode, and I also have been high on Wilson as 2nd only to Luck out of the young gun qb's.....But I know only too well what PM can do to an aggressive D, so while I appreciate the tough D, I know first hand that you have to put up points to out score him and the Broncos are far better than any Colt team he ever had.....Of course I know the any given Sunday rule too, but PM is too good with this team and it means more to him at this point than the young guns....They have time yet, he don't......It's gonna be fun to watch, Enjoy the time. it's special either way....You're already NFC Champions and that won't change....

Oldschool, being a Raven fan I would think you would appreciate how important a great D is. The Seahawks are built to bring down the Broncos. For many years its been all about the the great QB, but the worm is turning my friend, now the up and coming teams are featuring old time football. Everything runs in cycles and it's now time for the defense and a good running game to rule once again.

However no hard feelings! appreciate the support you have thrown our way. Seahawks are going make you a believer in my theory.

It will be a hell of a game.

It's all possible, but PM is an oldschool pocket passer and they have a good running game too. The D is a little week in the secondary but a solid team with a master at the qb position is what makes me lean that way and the image that PM has displayed to fans his whole career is unblemished.....The Hawks are gonna be in the hunt for years to come barring a tragedy of some kind and Wilson will get better each year, especially if they get him a Roddy White or Megatron receiver......It's all good, I love good football and this one looks to be a showcase.....I know how you feel, and it's a great one.....Live it up, man..:yahoo:

Normally I will root for the NFC team but Sherman kinda ruined that. Go Broncos.

:bullshit: You have been one of the front runners beating the "Fail Mary" drum since it happened, if you want to root for Denver, great, but don't try to act like it was Sherman that turned you.

If Peyton plays like Peyton...

It should be a Denver victory. Denver's D, in my opinion, is still suspect. Don't know if they can contain the Seattle O. If Peyton can pick them apart on D, sustain drives, and answer a SEA scoring drive with one of his own, they'll be in good shape.

Oh, and there's also the matter of playing in NJ in the winter.

I agree...with no dog in this fight...the matchup just seems to favor DEN imo as well...PM has lot of weapons and they will mix it up and run it as well. DEN is not going to let Lynch beat them so RW is going to have to make some plays in the air and if Carroll is smart he will throw it early, especially against 8 in the box...I could be wrong, but imo pounding Lynch early might put a lot of pressure on 3rd down and I think DEN will be smart to blitz RW and force him to make a decision quicker than he wants to.

IMO...the SEA DL has to flatout dominate the DEN OL to win...if they're able to get to Manning a lot with the front 4, they have a good chance to win...that's a tough task I think.

I don't think that matters anymore unless the weather gets bad. Every rules change that has happened over the years helps the offense

It will be a hell of a game.

I am not positive that the worm is turning.

The rule changes really favor a team that can move the ball through the air. You need to have a balanced offense still and be able to run the ball, and Denver can, but in this match-up, the Seahawks will be hard pressed to keep up with scoring if it becomes a shootout.

That defense is good, and will possibly slow them down, but not stop them. The Colts are the only team that successfully used press man coverage, bumping the receivers at the line to disrupt their timing and had some success the first half, but Manning adjusted and found the weakness. They were too aggressive. The turnovers were too much to overcome in that game ( +3) and they lost by 6.

Chargers caught Denver flat and ran the ball well and again, mental mistakes and a turnover proved to be too much to overcome.

Seattle will try to jam the receivers at the line. Bunch formations and crossing routes should be able to provide holes in the coverage. Denver also runs the bubble screen really well.

They can blanket 1 or 2 targets effectively, but all 4? And Moreno or Ball out of the backfield? Too many weapons to shut down.

On the other side, I don't see the Seattle offense able to keep up if they get behind in a shootout. Wilson is not a gunslinger. Seattle does not have anything special at WR. Tate is fast, but not a possession receiver or a physical WR who can break tackles.

Harvin will not be 100% and is nowhere close to game shape after not playing hardly at all this season. I don't see him being effective or Seattle actually using him that much.

Denver's Secondary has played much better than the regular season stats show the last 4 games and while we lost Harris, there is an X-factor.

Champ Bailey. Arguable one of the best DB's in the game the last 15 years. Consistent player when he is healthy. And he is healthy. His shot at a Superbowl and all those years of experience, I expect Champ to put it all on the line for his shot at a title.

Seattle's best weapon on offense is Lynch and Denver has been great good against the run all year (7th IN THE LEAGUE) and outstanding in the playoffs so far allowing an average of 67 ypg (best of the teams left in the post season) against SD and NE that came into the playoffs running the ball very effectively.

Denver D shut NE running game down Sunday limiting Blount to 6 yards.

The match up in the trenches is the key to this game, as it is for most games, Can Pot Roast stop Lynch? I think Denver can definitely slow him down. And if they get out to a lead, Wilson will be forced to pass. That could be really bad news for Seattle.

Can Denver O-line keep Manning upright? They have been stellar this season at pass protection and run blocking. Manning wasn't hardy touched so far in the post season and not sacked and the Chargers have a good pass rush. Seattle had 44 sacks on the year but so far only 3 in 2 post season games. Denver has had 6.

Everyone keeps talking about how the Seattle defense is going to crush Denver and win but I think it is not as easy as everyone is making it out be.

It comes down to executing and the specific match-ups. Whoever makes the most mistakes.

Denver has been executing very well in the post season so far. Methodical in all 3 phases. Hell they have punted 1 time in 2 games.

Seattle was pretty sloppy in that 2nd half against SF and New Orleans. A lot of mistakes that left their opponents a chance to get back in it.

Denver wins if they don't turn the ball over and give Seattle extra possessions.

That is the big issue with the game: Seattle leads the league in takeaways (notably Interceptions) and Seattle generally doesn't cough up the rock.

I am thinking Denver. IMO their defense while not great is decent enough to stop Seattle. And IMO Manning has the weapons and the experience needed to win the big game. Denver wins.

Super Bowls should be in Miami or San Diego, not NY.
