We'll see. I can't lose. Either Russell or Montee is getting a ring. I'd prefer it to be Russell, but both of those guys are very important to me. They helped make my Senior year of college (a stressful time with law school apps, a Senior thesis, and the like) that much better. They both had a rightful championship taken away by special teams and coaching fuckups, so at least one of them will get to experience a big time title.

You really root for your college heroes that hardcore at the next level on teams you don't otherwise root for?

I'd never root for them over the Bears, but yeah. I never did before I went to Wisconsin and I probably won't with anyone after I left, but JJ, Russell, and Montee will absolutely have a huge fan for life.

Care to explain how other than an enthusiastic "LEGION OF BOOM!"

The only one I can even think of is Antonio Gates (and Kent State was actually my dad's school)

But I think I rooted for him more for the fact that he played only basketball in college and then played in the NFL.

Besides the best defense in the NFL the Seahawks have Lynch and a up and coming QB. This is a good match up for the Seahawks, no other team is as equipped to deal with the Broncos offense as the Seahawks.

No doubt it's going to be a hell of a game however. Lynch will be the difference.

Denver can play against the run as good as any team in the league. (Ask BB) Seattle can play against the pass as good as or better than any other team in the league. If Seattle knocks off Denver they are going to do it by picking off passes and Wilson making plays with his feet. - Should be epic.

Broncos just won it. Seattle is not intimidating outside Seattle. Broncos beat them pats. Was hoping for 49ers Pats. Ratings won't be high, proves the nfl ain't rigged

The ratings will be high regardless of who played in the game. That refrain is getting old. The east coast needs to just let it go. As for intimidation, great defenses travel anywhere and the road thing has been proven wrong too many times to count. I do think the Broncos are one of the great offenses ever put together and Peyton certainly looks to be on a mission to cement his legacy. He will definitely give the Seahawk's D all they can handle and then some and they won't shut him down completely but the Broncos can be beat and I think Seattle is one of the teams that can do it. In todays game, Brady overthrew receivers all day and it cost the Pats but those receivers were beating the Bronco secondary. The Pats best corner went out early in that game too and Manning took advantage. Denver is a great team but I feel Wilson can beat them deep if his O-line can just keep the Denver pass rush at bey. And I also think the legion of boom can limit any group of receivers in the game and our pass-rush is far superior to New England's.

Should I have said "Manning and company"?

The preseason game where both teams played their first-teamers the entire fist half, were trash talking, and both wanted to make a statement about how they belonged as Super Bowl favorites isn't conclusive, but it provides as much insight into the matchup as most regular season games. I absolutely believe that, yes.

Seattle was up 33-7 at the half in that game too. But that has no bearing on how the Superbowl will play out what so ever. If Denver wins, I will congratulate them as I have with other teams that have beaten the Seahawks this year.

Ahhhhh an old school AFC West rivalry matchup. I know Elway is loving this.

If Denver limits Lynch, they will win.

As the saying goes, "Defense wins championships." I think Seattle has a couple of edges over Seattle. One, they are expert tacklers and do a great job with open field tackling. They kept Gore contained and completely shut down the run. Two, Manning can't run to save his life, and I see Denver having to rely on the pass to score points. As good as Manning is, I think the Seattle secondary will keep him in check. Lynch is an absolute beast. Though SF kept him bottled up in the first half, he eventually wore them down. I can't wait to see how Denver-- best run defense in the NFL--plans on containing Lynch. If they can keep him under wraps, and force Wilson to beat them with his arm, Denver might be able to pull this out. I think this will be a close one, but I think Seattle's defense ends up being the key that swings the game to Seattle.

Edit....Denver has one of the best run defenses in the NFL, not the best.

LMAO You're certainly no Richard Sherman when it comes to self congratulations, but at least you have the short memory of a CB.

Sherman's little tantrum pretty much painted the Seahawks as the villains in the SB. Expect the otherwise neutral fans to support Denver. I expect the Broncos to win, but chicanery on the part of the zebras can always leave room for doubt.

It will be interesting to see how the press deals with Sherman. I just chalk it up to a very competitive player getting overly excited. But if the press runs with this and focuses on Sherman's statement, who knows. With two weeks before the SB, the press is always looking for side stories and this certainly looks appealing.

Wow, basically a 50/50 split. I'm rooting for the Broncos but believe the Seahawks will win it. Regardless, I just want a great game. We've been fortunate that for the most part the past 15 years or so have produced mainly great games with only 3 or 4 shitty ones in tehre.

You have to figure, take the 12th man out of it and that's a pretty big loss to the Seahawks D and if there is a guy that can figure out a way to beat them it's Peyton. I really just hope it comes down to the wire.

It will be interesting to see how Seattle's defense begins the game. Will they rush three and use a nickle package to try and shut down Peyton's short game and neutralize Welker? If they can rush three, shut down the run game and harass Peyton, it will be a long game for the Broncos. However, if Denver can establish the run and force the Broncos to bring more LBs up to the LOS, Peyton will be able to move the ball. I definitely think this will be an excellent game decided by 7 points or less. What is Harvin's status for the SB?

Did you see the Redskins in the preseason? Their offense looked impressive and went 4-0. Tell me again how the preseason has any relevance on the regular/post season.

The Lions went 4-0 the same year they had a perfect season in reverse.
