That the main reason I didn't like that pick. Witten is not giving up snaps for him, and although Hannah is nothing special yet, he's more than capable to be the 2nd TE in the two TE plays. Had they used a 5th on a TE I wouldn't of cared. We has much bigger needs than a TE. This is the same reason I didn't care for Williams, but at least I thought he'd help the tram a little now. I believe it was either you or jarnett who said that Draft was about tomorrow. I agree with this analogy.

I didn't like the Escobar and Williams picks, but I saw the value in Williams. Unless Escobar turns into something really special I will hold the right to bitch about that pick.

I won't play the could've game. Also if Escobar pans out I will not be one to say "I knew all along" I just hope I'm wrong and he turns out great. I hope he becomes the next Jimmy Graham.

TEs take some time. It rare you see one come out of college and just explode the first year. Im not saying Escobar will ever be great. Witten , Gonzalez, and even Graham - all had around 35 catches their first season

Thats exactly why I didn't like the pick. Why use a 2nd round pick on a TE when you have Witten. I could understand if we had no pressing needs at S and OL. I'm not including the DL need because before all the injuries I liked the makeup of the DL.

Agree with the above 100%. We are playing guys off the street on the DL. The secondary certainly could use some coverage guys. The OL we have completely lucked out on. Yes, they are playing very, very well, but to assume at the time of the draft that a rookie center and an UDFA from last year would step up the way they have and that we would have been able to sign Waters and get production out of him AND Doug Free would go thru a complete 180 was a little risky. TE??? Still really don't need this kid at this point...but hope he turns out to be a player...
