You deal with it.

You're the one 0-3 vs FSU.

USC 0-2

Neb 2-6

Notre Dame 2-6

Michigan 1-2

Penn St 1-1-1

We've never played Texas.

Only Bama and Oklahoma have whipped us. (of the top 10)

OU is 6-1 and Bama is 3-1-1.

But you keep working at it and you'll achieve our level one day

Maybe you get to be a blue blood because you played 15 games against area high schools.
'Course you only compiled an 8-5-2 record against them, so that should be considered
a downer.

"yeah, well...High School was almost like college back then!!!"

I didn't know that how two teams schedules compared in 1947 determined whether
a school was a blue blood or not. Hell, I learn something everyday.

It means while FSU was playing schools that never became big boys USC was playing big boys.

LOL. You're just a step above Oregon fans . They think football started in 2003 and you think football started in 1979

Florida > Miami > FSU

Ugh - That's a hard one to rank.

Those Miami teams in the early 21st century were some of the best ever, names like Johnson, Erickson, Coker, and now Richt.

I'd probably go with Miami > Florida > FSU

Florida State will definitely be given blue blood status one day. They have pretty much all the requirements. Championships, legendary coach, dominating era(s), consistency, fan base. All they are missing is time. History is a big factor and 40 years just isn't enough of it in college football.

One of the things I don't like about Miami or Florida is they don't have that legendary coach. Florida has Spurrier, I know, but I just don't put him up there with your Bear Bryants, Woody's, Knutes, Mckay, etc. Miami would have...Jimmy Johnson? I could be showing some ignorance but who would be Miami's most famous coach?

I think Spurrier is a legend. Hands down.

Miami's is probably Johnson.

Need some input from @Chewbaccer before we go too far.

I've done some soul searching since the last thread when I had a very liberal definition of blue blood. Now I'm more picky than any of you sumbitches.

Bama
Ohio State
Oklahoma
Texas

If you haven't won a natty this century, your team don't qualify.

AP titles during the BCS era and vacated titles don't qualify.

I'd have to think about it. He is certainly very close if he is not, but my initial instinct just doesn't put him up there with the legendary coaches of the 8 teams listed.

My logical flaw in previous threads like this was I was lumping in every storied program with blue bloods. I've come to realize there is a difference.

He's the the winningest coach at 2 SEC Schools (South Carolina & UF). The Bear is the only person I know with that same accolade.
