He said "played for another"

Pay attention.

He said won a 'tip' and played for another in the past 20 years. I asked what a 'tip' was...

I'm not against doing anything. I just wonder if/when you take a team off the Blue Blood list?

Nebraska is #5 in most wins, I only mentioned Michigan because the are 1st.

That argument has been mulled over 100's of times on the site in the last 8 years.

Once again you are applying the barometer to one team and not others.

Michigan started playing CFB in 1881
Nebraska started playing CFB in 1900 (19 years later)

No it wasn't lol.

Wow - I really did the math wrong on that one.

20 years ago it is.

Fair point, and I'm not saying Nebraska isn't one per say, but when/if do you ever consider taking a team out of the Blue Bloods. Assuming Nebraska doesn't win this year, that'll surpass the 20 year mark. Or, is it once you are a Blue Blood, you are always a Blue Blood?

Oh, and I have really only been active on here the past year, so anything before that I am not aware of it being discussed.

But it was the 1996 season

The winner this year will be the 2018 National Champion.

No it was the 1997 season.

And NO, the winner this year will be the 2017 champion. :L

I see you are in left field and uninformed. I.E. Not worth debating If you can't get simple things correct.

Not enough coffee and it's a Monday.

So, does Nebraska stay on until when? 20 years with nothing? 30? 40?

To me, the number of national championships is a flawed metric. A blue blood to me is a school with such an aura of tradition that you'd want to see one of their games even if they were 0-10. An OSU-Michigan game is always must watch. If Oklahoma and Nebraska still played, the same. USC-Notre Dame, also.

1. Notre Dame
2a. Bama
2b. Oklahoma
3. Ohio State
4. USC
5. Michigan
6. Nebraska
7. Texas

That's my order. Couldn't decide between Oklahoma and Alabama. I think or both of the Florida schools eventually get included. Penn State is also close but I think they will always stay just outside

But Nebraska has played for another NC in the past 20 years even after this year.

That is the same barometer you're using to pimp ND.
Michigan will not have even played for an NC in 20 years after this season.

Fair enough. That debate has been beaten into the dirt in multiple threads.

Nice list. Maybe switch Michigan and Texas. Michigan has won 1 NC in the last 70 years and hasn't won a conference title in what 10 years? Texas has won 1 NC in the last 47 years and last played for one in '09 and won a conference title in '09.

Pretty sure it always comes down to the same 8 teams at the end as well. Everyone has their order but the consensus is usually the same.

I never had an order until @iowajerms did that tourney in the offseason and I researched all those teams a little closer

Yes, the same year Crouch was the Heisman.

I do think their are other variables when considering Blue Bloods. The Sell-Out streak Nebraska has is definitely impressive, as is the history. Losing the rivalries with Oklahoma, and the intense games with Texas may have hurt Nebraska, maybe not, but I do miss them being in the B1G.

I'm always cool with lowering Michigan's ranking in something.

Honestly, the order of those schools is highly subjective
