Yes, the same year Crouch was the Heisman.

I do think their are other variables when considering Blue Bloods. The Sell-Out streak Nebraska has is definitely impressive, as is the history. Losing the rivalries with Oklahoma, and the intense games with Texas may have hurt Nebraska, maybe not, but I do miss them being in the B1G.

???

I don't care about the order. Just saying if you have Michigan and Notre Dame on the list, then Nebraska should be there as well.

Like I said. Nebraska's W/L over the last 20 years is right there or possibly exceeds both Michigan and Notre Dame.

I'm not against doing anything. I just wonder if/when you take a team off the Blue Blood list?

Michigan is the best candidate for removal.

All-time wins are great, but over the past 20 years they've been reduced to a rust-belt South Carolina

Why wouldn't the Top 10 Power teams all-time be your Blue Bloods?

Those are in order
Alabama
Mich
Ohio St
USC
Texas
Okla
Nebraska
Florida State
Penn St.

Now, I'll take it one step farther.

How have the Top 10 done against each other when they have played?
Listed by winning percentage...(Thru 2016)

Florida State .605
Texas .563
Mich .542
Notre Dame .526
Alabama .516
USC .513
Oklahoma .477
Ohio State .477
Nebraska .433
Penn St .413

Florida State didnt do anything till 1979 . Prior to 1979 their overall record was 189- 141.
Not Blue blood at all not even close.

Not much more to add, you guys pretty much nailed it. I'd say wins/ships are important but so is fanbase, atmosphere, tradition. That's why I think Nebraska should still be called a blue blood and as others said, the Bo Pelini years weren't scarce of wins.

Now if recruiting doesn't pick back up in Lincoln and they never compete for the West, then they possible get moved down an echelon

Oh...I see.

FTR since 1977 we have had 24 double-digit win seasons. Nobody has more.

How many do you have...11?

You have 5 NC's since 1936 (1st year of the AP). We have 3 and we didn't even start
playing football until 1947.

Maybe you get to be a blue blood because you played 15 games against area high schools.
'Course you only compiled an 8-5-2 record against them, so that should be considered
a downer.

One team I can think of that fell off the radar totally is Arkansas. back in the 60s, 70s and early 80s, the Arkansas-Texas game was mad hyped. Frank Broyles and Lou Holtz vs Darrell Royals and Fred Akers

LOL. If you have to start with since 1977 then you're not a blue blood.
And go look who you were playing in the 40s 50s and 60s.

I'd say LSU and Tennessee have to be in consideration

I think you're probably better putting this in the context or eras. The game has been played since the late 1800's and most of you are looking at it though a very narrow era of now as opposed to different eras. The rules have changed, the game itself has changed and so have the powers of the eras.

Not to mention, there is a playoff now. Too many schools claim bullshit nattys when they didn't even play in the NC game or finish #1 in the country.

I didn't know that how two teams schedules compared in 1947 determined whether
a school was a blue blood or not. Hell, I learn something everyday.
