They all did.
It was the only way to unite.
By uniting/winning , he made millions and millions in endorsements.
Far more then the salary he left behind.

Read some of the stuff coming out today.
His agent is really the one who screwed him over by demanding a max for Bosh.
James also screwed him over by allowing him to opt out when he knew he wasn't coming back.
Can't blame a player for leaving though - Nothing lasts forever and like Kevin Durant - he has to do what makes him happy

In the words of Wes Scantlin - Wade took it all away and shoved it in Riley's face...

@TurnUpTheHeat @Heatles84 Suck it.

Poor Dipshit. If you looked at the forum posts in the offseason thread, you'll see that I'm okay with Wade leaving.

Sad that Wade has more titles then your entire pathetic franchise. Enjoy Lebron's nuts in your mouth in the playoffs.

Initial year, if I recall was 14,500 Bosh/James. 14 Wade.
If Bosh/James bought dinner all season, it was a wash.
Bottom line - don't expect other teams to do what the Lakers did for Kobe. I thought that was little too much any way, but Kobe did a lot and was there 18 years. There isn't one player like Kobe was and has earned those rights. Not disrespecting Wade, but he isn't Kobe.

Agree.
I don't blame ANY FA for doing anything.
I hope he gets to finally play against James in the playoffs.
I was hoping to see that last year.
Just wasn't meant to be.

I have nothing bad to say about Wade, that being said, he was offered a fair deal IMO.

I didn't realize it till now but Miami is in a deep load of shit - they lost Luol Deng to the Lakers and Wade to Chicago. They got some serious problems there. I could see Whiteside jumping ship now

I remember when Shaq O'Neal was calling Wade the best guard in the NBA and experts pointed out that Shaq was carrying it to far because Wade had not helped Shaq win three titles like Kobe. I have to give Wade credit for getting two more titles, but as I said before - he is not a Kobe and he was offered a fair deal for a player his age and beginning to decline

When you have a salary cap, you can't dish out contracts like that and compete.

He and CB had the same agent?

I either forgot that or didn't know it in the first place.

Didn't he take less a second time for Bosh to get paid? Or is that what you were referencing?

I don't want to make lite of your franchise player leaving. I've been there man, trust me. For me on the outside I just don't see any negative to Wade going home here at the end. And I spent a good chunk of my life hating the Chicago Bulls. Chicago sports in general really.

Whiteside said he's honoring his agreement.

We're not in deep shit.
We're just in for a bad season, which is fine.

A year from now we'll have another year of experience in our youth ( Whiteside, Winslow, Richardson)
Both draft picks, hopefully lottery, and prob 60-70M in cap space.

Talent wise, oh hell no he was Kobe.

But Wade was a poors man lot of things that Kobe could never dream of being at the same time.

Talent comparison isn't even close though imo.

Lakers got super lucky this year with the second pick - If you draft right - you can get a couple of nice picks and rebuild in two or three years

Bosh and Wade share an agent.
Heat wanted to give them both 18M.
Agent demanded max for Bosh (22), which left Wade with 14.

How is that possibly Riley's fault?

Good time to regroup.

And that's the reason that Wade didn't get the same respect that Kobe got not to mention that the Lakers have deeper pockets and a bigger market to pay for the bill

Fault is prolly the wrong word for sure.

Like you said earlier, a lot will come out soon. I think people took Wade and his personality for granted at times. He's the consummate teammate and a man dedicated to winning. But even that has its limits.

Talent level shouldn't determine respect level imo.

Respect should be earned - but talent wise - Wade wasn't a 20 million a year player to begin with and never has been one. Partly that was because he was in a smaller market area where that is to be expected. I think some of the teams who were ridiculously over the cap were caught off guard with the salary jump in the cap and because they hadn't been working on getting under and still didn't have much to work with while it was a gravy team for a lot of other teams who went loco with the spending. In short It appears Riley thought it was business as usual and it wasn't. This year has been the wildest free agency I have ever seen

I don't mean to disrespect Wade but I don't think replacing Rose with Wade is that much of an improvement considering how many games Wade will likely be sitting out. Just think the money could have been better spent but that's just my opinion based on 0 experience running an NBA franchise. :noidea:

While less injury prone that Rose, he's still going to be 35 this season and way past his prime.

Heat fans should be relieved. All that money can be put elsewhere.

Harsh, but truth.
