I'm a Mitch guy all the way but I'm hoping Foles starts the season. Foles sucks and then Mitch will play. It wont much matter because the problems are coaching and oline and run game. It will make for a shit season but atleast the blind on the board will finally see the problems we have are not at the QB position.

In case no one has told you lately.......you're an idiot.

You're welcome.

Gee like what you think matters. You are the board moron.

Keep hugging Trubisky’s nut sack....although it’s gonna be silly when you’re still doing it in a couple seasons when he’s on another teams roster as a backup.

In the mean time you can keep making up excuse after excuse about how everything else is a problem but Mitch is just dandy.

After about the first 6 or so games in 2018, no defense has had any respect for our QB. It has been a snowball running down a hill since. The dude has been completely ineffective against any decent team over a season and a half.

Mitch has never had a good game vs a good defense. Dallas is the only one you can argue in that respect. The three big games he had in 18 were against dog shit D's. In 17, his lone legitimately good game was vs Cincy. So, he's always been ineffective against good D's. He has like 6 good games in his career and 5 were vs horrible D's. Not to mention, Dallas's numbers were rather inflated by playing the NFCE 6x last year. Along with the AFCE.

Do you honestly believe that Mitch had absolutely nothing to do with our offensive struggles last season? Particularly, in the passing game.

How much of the blame does he shoulder, if any?

Who did you blame when he had ample time in the pocket and then sailed a ball over an open receivers head downfield? Which happened, at least, once per game on average.

I am not being flippant with you. I am genuinely interested in hearing your answers to the above questions.

As i've been saying all along: the FO and coaching staff would be ridiculously stupid to make this an open competition. May the best man win!

So, you believe they should pick one and go with him? Meh. I prefer the competition route.

Right again little buddie. Trubisky was and is our only problem. We will go undefeated once he is gone.

How much of the blame does he shoulder, if any? (About 25%)

Who did you blame when he had ample time in the pocket and then sailed a ball over an open receivers head downfield? Which happened, at least, once per game on average. ( him ) ( Who do you blame when he made a perfect pass and it was dropped, Happened more then once a game, or called back on penalty? )

This coach and team killed Trubisky last year. Not the other way around IMO. No QB would have been good here last year. The coaching was a joke, the Oline was the worst I ever seen, the run game non existent, we run a TE based offense with no TE. Trubisky and Monty looked like 2 of the worst players in the whole league last year. I believe they are both middle of the pack players.

Mitch only had two passes beyond 10 yards dropped all season. So, just... no. Most of the drops were by RB's in checkdowns. Cohen had like half. Mitch would panic and rocket launch balls into the flat constantly. Many would hit Cohen in the hands but catching the ball would have done nothing on a long 3rd down or it would have even lost yardage.

The only play Mitch ever had a receiver truly cost him with a drop was the would be 1st down at home vs Detroit from his own end zone. Gabriel dropped one that him in the chest 20 yards away. Very nice throw.

I think we only had one long pass play called back all season (against NYG). So, again... penalties? No.

wow.

Totally missed this signing. Or I'd forgotten about it.

Foles would be my choice.

Even if you discount Mitch's intended air yards in those drops. Mitch's receivers drop% was 5.5. League average was 5.2%.

Mitch was 6th in total bad throws in the NFL with 93. Despite missing two games and only averaging 8 air yards per attempt.

Mitch was pressured 12th most in the NFL. Hit 17th most. Certainly nothing special pertaining to how much the line failed him.

There's just nothing that stands out here which explains such awful play.

Yeah...

They traded a compensatory 4th round pick for him and Jacksonville ate a chunk of the deal. Foles restructured to 8 mil per year over 3 seasons. 3 years/24 mil with 16 mil guaranteed. Foles can void the deal and ask for more money should he start and play well. The Bears can get out of the deal after 2 years for only 16 mil.

Oops. I missed the word "not" in there. They would be ridiculously stupid to NOT make it an open competition.

Nice hyperbole....too bad it’s complete bullshit because I’ve never even hinted at that being true.

You’re bad at this. You should stop trying. Or continue getting pecker slapped. Up to you.

Noon and I finally agree.

I wouldn’t brag about this.

You’re talking about a guy that on another thread tried to put Jay Cutler on the Bears version of Mount Rushmore.

Then again he probably doesn’t know what a checkdown is either...so maybe you two are perfect for each other.
